"Behold, I make all things new" said Jesus. At the end! (Revelation 21)

We love that we serve a God of new starts, and well, it's been that sort of year for our Padgate worker, Jon...

"I've just come back from paternity leave, after welcoming my beautiful baby girl into the world. Upon my return I've hit the ground running; youth club sessions, lots of RE lessons, and wonderful conversations with many young people who've been so happy and welcoming as I enter back in.

So far I've delivered lessons on the meaning of baptism, evangelical worship, and Christian views on poverty and stewardship, and during these lessons I'm getting some great questions from young people who seem to just want to explore more and more.

I've been doing this long enough to know that I'm seeing hearts and minds being opened, and I'm so happy to see so many young lives get their new start, on the road to being born again.

I'll soon be starting a podcast at the school, where we will discuss deep questions, and I'm hoping this will form a good 'next step' for the curious minds around me. Alongside this, I'm laying the groundwork for a "summer of love" where I plan a number of kindness outreaches with the Christ Church Youth, giving them a fresh perspective on the faith through the medium of mission.

If all goes well, next academic year will only build on the progress we're making this year.

Please continue to pray for the team and for our families, that God will protect these children taking their first steps towards the kingdom."

Blackpool Pleasure Beach Trip 2026 😎🎒

The annual trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach kept us youth workers on our toes during May Half Term. But thankfully we managed to get over 100 young people to Blackpool and back in one piece - it was a sun-and-fun-filled day β˜€

Thankyou for your prayers πŸ™

This question is every youth worker's dream! And it was a dream come true for our Latchford worker Kim last term, when a young person asked if they could start a group at school to study the Bible together.

"Within two weeks, a school Bible study had launched, and we were sat in a classroom reading about Jesus' encounter with Zaccheus in Luke 19.

We meet every Friday lunchtime and so far we have had 10 young people come along to read God's word, many of whom are brand new to reading the Bible and finding out what God might have to say to them.

One of them said they like reading the Bible because 'I just really relate to it.'

Another said 'It makes me feel peaceful.'

I believe that God is speaking directly to young people through His Word, and it's so crucial that we create spaces to open up the Bible and listen to what God has to say to them through it. It doesn't have to be complicated, we just open up God's Word and let Him do the talking!

Please pray for this group and for these 10 wonderful young people."

We're running a prayer space at Sir Thomas Boteler throughout the exam period πŸ™ to provide a place of peace and calm for any young people finding exams stressful and overwhelming.

Jesus says "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" ✝
