A chapel has been present here since at least 1203. This church was built in 1483. ✨️

This morning, I surprised my Dad at his church, going to his Sunday morning mass on Christmas Eve.

While I was a few minutes late, it meant I heard him doing the reading on the altar as I walked through the doors. It was wonderful. 😊🎄

A Grade I listed building, right in the centre of Nottingham, it is one of the three medieval parish churches in the city.

The church shows traces of many stages of construction from about 1180 onwards (the original church of around 1100 was destroyed by fire).

St Mary's Church, Rydal, Ambleside.

It was built by Lady le Fleming of Rydal Hall in 1824. William Wordsworth was a churchwarden here around 10 years later.

St Andrew's Church, Penrith, Cumbria, UK.

The churchyard is well over a thousand years old, and the tower dates back to the 1200s. Its thick walls suggest it may have served a dual purpose for defence against the invading Scots.

The church itself was mostly rebuilt in 1720, and was modelled on St Andrew's Church in Holborn, London.

Its interior is almost entirely neoclassical with tuscan style galleries and a painted cove ceiling.
