Greetings and welcome to September, I hope and pray you have had a restful summer and have not found the extreme heat too much of a trial. September is for many a time of new starts, in particular for those in educational settings. For me the magazine this month has been a fresh start and a big learning curve. Until now I have always worked in publisher but that is being made obsolete imminently! I’ve had to recreate the magazine from scratch in word (because it is so full of graphics every attempt to run the conversion resulted in very messy realignment and significant brain ache). Hey ho, job done I am now good to go in word for future editions. I’ve been putting it off for many months so I’m relieved to have it done and to bring you the details of our weekend, see the centre spread. You don’t need to attend church or be a Christian to come and join us, we genuinely want to build a stronger sense of community in Thelwall and the best way to do that is to bring people together. That’s why our friends at Chaigeley are supporting the weekend with the use of their incredible facilities. Take a look at what’s on offer and let us know if you want to join us at all.

Deaneries: Revitalised for Mission

From 21 August to 28 September, churches and individuals across the Diocese of Chester are invited to take part in a consultation on proposals to revitalise the deanery system. Developed by Bishop Mark, the Senior Leadership Team, Rural Deans and Lay Chairs, the proposals aim to strengthen local mission, collaboration and leadership in support of the Diocese’s vision and strategic priorities. Feedback will be sought on a revised deanery leadership model, proposed deanery groupings, additional support for deaneries and arrangements for transition. Everyone is encouraged to participate, with PCCs and deaneries also invited to submit formal responses. The consultation pack and response details will be available when the consultation opens on 21 August.
