On Saturday we are opening up St Margaret’s for private prayer in honour of ‘Baby S’, the newborn baby girl who tragically died this week. Anyone is welcome to come and pray, or sit quietly, as we remind ourselves she is found safely in the arms of God.

Carolyn & Melvyn were on Radio Sheffield this morning talking about our holiday program for families they’ve set up called Bright Bites. We’re offering a free cooked meal & dessert to local families. With lots of games and activities.
If you’d like to pop along, we’d love to see you!

Today at Bright Bites we have Jacket Potatoes, cheese & chilli. And fruit crumble, custard and buns.
We’ve got lots of activities to do. A parachute, hook a duck, pool table, board games, baby toys, giant jenga & colouring!
It’s all FREE from 12pm-2pm. Come along as a family (children need to be supervised). We also have space for parents who are working from home to work.
We hope to see you!

A couple of weeks ago we shared this announcement in church...

After a thorough appointment process the Bishop of Sheffield is pleased to announce the appointment of the Revd Britt Webb as Vicar and Oversight Minister of the Benefice of Brightside (St Thomas and St Margaret) with Wincobank.

Britt has been serving as Curate in Charge of Brightside and Wincobank since September 2025 and so is well known! We look forward to welcoming Britt as she seeks to make the move into the benefice in the near future.

Britt will be instituted and inducted in the parish on the 1st September at 7pm at St Margaret's, when she will begin the new shape to her ministry at Brightside and Wincobank.
