Yesterday the choristers and junior choristers of St John's Church, Ranmoor in Sheffield took part in . Nature counts are part of our Silver Eco Church work. The sun was shining and the children really enjoyed spotting and drawing flowers and wildlife. We counted a lot of bee orchids!

🌟 A joyful morning at St John’s! 🌟

We enjoyed a wonderful All Age Service today, filled with worship, celebration and fellowship.

A special highlight was the baptism of Iris and Clara. Congratulations to them both and to their families on this very special occasion. It was a privilege to welcome them into the church family and share in such an important milestone.

We were also delighted to see our young people so involved in the service. Members of the choir took part in the readings and helped Matthew our vicar with a variety of special jobs throughout the morning, making the service even more meaningful and demonstrating the wonderful contribution our children make to church life.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the service such a happy and memorable occasion. Please keep Iris, Clara and their families in your thoughts and prayers as they continue their faith journey.

The programme includes music by Johann Sebastian Bach,Henry Purcell, Herbert Howells, William Lloyd Webber and Louis Vierne, showcasing the full power and beauty of St John’s magnificent restored organ.

What a fantastic Christian Aid Week we’ve had at St John’s!

From the door to door collection, Sunday’s service, to the wonderful Gala Concert, the raffle, and finishing with a brilliant Big Breakfast on Saturday morning, it has been a joyful week of community, music, generosity and fellowship in support of Christian Aid.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard for this year’s Christian Aid Week appeal. The sum raised is over £2,700 for the work which Christian Aid do in the poorest parts of the world, including Nairobi. We are enormously grateful for all the commitment, generosity and good will of so many who gave time, energy and donations to this very important and needed work.

A snippet from this afternoon's rehearsal of our liturgical performance of Monteverdi's Vespers with the West Riding Ensemble. The service starts at 6.30, a not to be missed opportunity to hear this wonderful work in the context of a service.
