Good morning all, every morning Pastor Mark gives us as a church family a chapter of the bible to read daily with an introduction and encouragement before we read the chapter. If anyone would like to join with us reading a chapter of the bible daily with us please let me know and I can forward Pastor Mark's encouragement plus the chapter we read together..here's yesterdays🙂
WE HAVE STARTED TO READ THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS...
Introduction to the chapter and encouragement from Pastor Mark:-
Here we go, Ephesians Chapter 1
This is such a powerful chapter. You can feel the intensity, passion and enthusiasm, and most importantly, how thankful Paul is to Jesus Christ, our Saviour, for everything that he has done for us freely.
In verse 3, we read that we are blessed.
Verse 4 we have been chosen, and in verse 5, "He predestined us," those of us in the Atonement Bible Study will be familiar with this word.
It gets better
Verse 7 " We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
In verse 11, we were 'chosen'
Verse 13 ' included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.
Verse 15 and 16 Paul is so thankful and prays continually that "The glorious Father, May give you the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation, so that you may know him better"
This is a massive verse, something that we also individually pray for, what an honour it is to tread a path where our focus is to get to know our Lord and Saviour more and more.
And verse 18 is also our prayer "You may know the hope to which he has called you."
Read verse 22 and 23 slowly, Jesus the head of the church, and the church is his body.
Ephesians Chapter 1 is probably one of the most powerful Chapters we will ever read, written by Paul who was so anti Jesus Christ but who became the most important and influential servant of Jesus Christ that we could ever want to emulate.
But of course, we are all individually made, with a purpose and a mission.
What an amazing journey each one of us has.
Know that Jesus Christ believes in you, don't get knocked upwards, downwards or sideways we are all here to build each other up and to encourage each other.
Ephesians 1 is a great start to the day
Stay encouraged, look up, give thanks, and be blessed
Amen
(Pastor Mark)
