We are a church made up of ordinary people whose lives have been changed by the Good News of Jesus.

We are a local church family made up of ordinary people whose lives have been changed by the Good News of Jesus, and are seeking to partner with God to see all things made new. We do this by Encountering the God who is real and wants to be in relationship with us; by Equipping one another to live out the new life we've found in Jesus; and by Engaging our wider community with the Good News in word and deed. We meet weekly at 10:30am on Sunday mornings in Hope Chapel, High Street, Merthyr, CF478UG. We also live stream our sermons on our page 'Hope TV Merthyr'.

🏓🍬✨ IMPORTANT DATES FOR TEENS ✨🍬🏓

If you are a teen in school years 7-13, you’re invited to come to Hope Teens every Friday at 7:00pm during term time! You are also invited along to all the teens events that are running between October 2026 and January 2027 (with many more to come for the rest of 2027!) 🙌

PARENTS - please do sign your teen up via our website and don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions!

The safety and wellbeing of our young people is a priority. All Hope Teens leaders are DBS checked, and trained first aiders are part of the team.

⛪️✨ CATCH UP ✨⛪️

We’re all worshipping someone or something. We’re all formed by what we worship. Who do we ascribe ultimate worth to? Who do we give our attention to? Who do we give our loyalty and our allegiance to?

As 21st century people we can be self determining, we’re all a little bit individualistic - then when you have a God that says “you shall have no other gods before me” to our culture, immediately you may think it an arrogant command, maybe even a little bit egotistical and that this demand for exclusivity is well over the top.

But when you understand what we’re talking about is the name above all names, the power above all powers, the king above all kings, the love above all loves, then we start to understand why this exclusivity really, really matters.

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me. - Exodus‬ ‭20‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭

Our Sunday Gatherings start at 10:30am, every single Sunday. Anybody is welcome to come and worship, hear His word, pray and be prayed for. It doesn’t matter how you dress, where you have come from or what your week has looked like - there’s a seat for you 💕
