William Booth was Promoted to Glory on 20th August 1912.

A life poured out in holiness, compassion, and relentless mission. His legacy still beats in the heart of every corps, every outreach, every act of love done in Christ’s name.

“Go for souls, and go for the worst” wasn’t just his motto, it was his heartbeat. And today, we give thanks for a man who changed the world by following Jesus with everything he had.

May we honour his memory by living the mission boldly, loving people fiercely, and keeping the fire burning.

Thank you, General Booth. Your influence lives on in us.

Today we’re praying for every young person receiving their GCSE results. Whether you’re celebrating, relieved, or feeling unsure about what comes next, please know this: you are valued, you are loved, and your future is full of possibility.

At The Salvation Army, we believe that your worth is never measured by grades. You are wonderfully made, gifted in unique ways, and God walks with you into every new chapter.

If today feels heavy, or you simply need someone to talk to, our doors and our hearts are open.

Over these past days, the wildfires across our area have been deeply worrying and concerning for so many.
As a church and as a family of faith, we want every firefighter to know that we are praying for you; for strength, protection, resilience, and peace as you work tirelessly to bring these fires under control.

To each crew that has responded, thank you.
We honour you, we appreciate you, and we are holding you before God.

We also want to express heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers serving on The Salvation Army’s Incident Support Unit. Your cups of tea, coffee, food, and quiet words of encouragement mean more than you know. You are a blessing to every crew you meet.

May God’s hand be upon every firefighter, every volunteer, every family affected, and every community watching and waiting.
Lord, bring safety. Lord, bring calm. Lord, bring rain.

We stand together. We pray together. We trust God together.
