Who we are
Gateway Church Cymru is a growing, vibrant church based in Aberdare, the heart of the South Wales valleys. We are a church with a vision for meeting our town, valley and nation for Jesus Christ. Where we come from
Gateway Church Cymru began over 100 years ago with a small group of people from Aberaman. Their hearts desire was to know Jesus and to make Him known to everyone they came in

contact with. God has given us a promise that the future of Gateway Church Cymru will be even greater than our past. More than ever, we have a passion to reach Aberaman and the surrounding areas with the love of God. As we move forward as a church family, inclusion, belonging, and loving people remain at the centre of who we are as followers of Christ. Most importantly, you're always welcome at Gateway Church Cymru. We're saving a seat for you. Wherever you're at in your faith journey, you'll always be accepted as part of the Gateway family. On Re:Vision Sunday, we were reminded that God is not finished with us yet.

As we step into the rest of this year, we’re not relying on our own strength. Whatever lies ahead, the Lord will give us everything we need to keep going, keep believing and keep standing.

Alpha starts next Tuesday, 15th September, at 7pm!

Alpha is a relaxed and friendly place where you can explore questions about life, faith and God. Each evening includes food, a short video and plenty of time for open and honest conversation.

You don’t need to know anything about Christianity, and no question is too big or too small. It’s free, everyone is welcome, and we would love you to join us.

Luke 1:78-79 NLT
“Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.”

This was Zechariah’s prophecy about Jesus. As we move towards the end of this year, we’re believing for a holy visitation and for people who are far from God to encounter Jesus and be saved.

What a great Re:Vision Sunday!

It was so good to welcome new people, hear some wonderful testimonies and share the vision for the rest of this year.

The best moment was seeing someone recommit their life to Jesus. It was such a brilliant morning in God’s presence and a reminder that everything we do is all about Jesus.

We are so grateful for what God is doing at Gateway and excited for all that lies ahead.

If you’ve thought about coming to church but haven’t quite made it yet, why not join us tomorrow?

It’s Re:Vision Sunday and we’ll be taking time to thank God for what He’s been doing and look ahead to what’s next for us as a church.

You don’t need to know anyone or have everything figured out. Just come as you are. We’d love to welcome you.

Gateway Coffee is open from 9:45am and the service begins at 10:30am.

Our new Gateway Kids welcome bags launch this Sunday🎒✨

Each child will receive their own bag, including an Adventure Passport and a letter for parents and guardians with everything they need to know.

We can’t wait for our children to begin their new adventure as they discover more about Jesus and grow in their faith 🗺️🙌

We’re so excited and incredibly blessed to be leading Alpha and meeting new people over the coming weeks🙏

Our story is one of God’s grace. There was a time when we both felt lost and were searching for something to fill the emptiness inside. Then Jesus met us where we were, changed our lives and gave us a hope and purpose we never knew were possible.

We’re not perfect, and we don’t have all the answers. But we know what Jesus has done for us, and we’re passionate about sharing His love with others.

Alpha is a place where you can come exactly as you are - ask questions, explore faith, have honest conversations and meet new people. No pressure, no judgement.

Whether you’ve followed Jesus for years, you’re curious about Him, or you’re not sure what you believe, you are welcome.

We can’t wait to meet you, hear your story and journey together through Alpha.
