ATTENTION - DIARY DATE
23rd August at 6pm
Many of us know that Alan and Sally Tideswell are retiring at the end of August. I know their ministry has been so important to so many people over the years so I couldn’t let them go without saying a proper thank you. So, on the 23rd August at 6pm we’ll be holding a special service of thanks for Alan and Sally… no doubt there’ll be drinks somewhere after but I wanted to get the date out there asap with it being summer and them being so important!

Do you have a loved one buried in the graveyard? We need your help! Connected or not to our beautiful church and grounds, we’d love to welcome you to this and have your help and encouragement. All volunteers and no gardening knowledge necessary! If you’re community minded do be a part of keeping Chapel looking the best it can! (We need to look somewhere other than the market place at the mo! 😉)

End of the day and what’s a vicar to do… quiet walk around a graveyard. The OCD slight tendency in me would like to clear the graveyard, reset all the stones straight and make it ‘neat’… but neither life or death is like that and as I walked around there was beauty in the gothic style stones enveloped in ivy that spoke of being bedded and rooted in a place, contrasted against our neat new memorial garden with only 1 tablet laid. The grass is a little less neat around it, but perhaps that’s how it’s meant to be ❤️

A bit wet and windy this year, but that wasn't going to deter the good folk of Chapel, Chinley, Buxworth and Whaley from having our annual Good Friday service on top of Eccles Pike ✝️
