St Peter's Anglican church is a historic building on the edge of Fairfield Common, to the north of the spa town of Buxton. Our aim is to worship God, and proclaim his Son, Jesus Christ, making him known to those who live and work in the parish. We try to meet the needs of both the congregation and the diverse community in which we are set. This means that our most important service is Holy Communi
on which happens here most weeks. We also have a monthly family orientated non-communion service which is particularly suitable for young families and those who aren't used to coming to church. We provide a full range of additional services, including baptisms, weddings and funerals to all who need them. Our activities reach out to as wide a range of ages as possible, and we have strong links with our Church controlled school, Fairfield Junior School. Most, if not all churches would describe themselves as welcoming and we at St Peter's like to think that we are welcoming too. The best people to be the judge of that are not the church members, but those who come along for the first time. If you are reading this, it is perhaps because you are interested in knowing more about Christianity and/or more about St Peter's, Fairfield. The best way though is to come along in person and share in our worship. We hope that, if you decide to do this, you will find a group of people who are committed to following Christ and who enjoy the fun and companionship of belonging. We are delighted when someone discovers for themselves what it means to be a Christian and begins to explore the Christian faith with us. We are equally delighted to welcome those whose faith is already an important part of their life.
