Trinity Church Buxton We're a church family passionate about making Jesus known and we would love to welcome you! We enjoy the independence of “proprietary chapel” status.

We are a Anglican Evangelical church established in 1873 and part of the Church of England. Effectively this means we are an Anglican congregation but without a parish. Our Minister is ordained in the Church of England and licensed by the Bishop of Derby. We are primarily concerned with biblical, evangelical Christianity. We hold to the historic creeds, the Reformed doctrine of the 39 Articles (th

e doctrinal basis of the Church of England) and the Anglican understanding that ordained leaders of local congregations are to be pastor teachers of the Bible. However we recognise the need for continual spiritual reformation under the Word of God and commit ourselves to that.

It was a full house for an evening of comedy with James Cary as a part of Buxton Festival Fringe last month. In his show, 'God, The Bible and Everything in 60 Minutes', James not only made us laugh, he also made us sing, and throw a rock at his head!

There were BBQs a-plenty to mark the end of the school year at Trinity... and not just for our children's and youth groups! We're so thankful for the service of our Church Council members over this past year and for the unity and love that exists among them. A sunny family afternoon over a delicious lunch was a great way to start the summer break.

What will people say about you at your funeral? What will be your finest hour?

We see in Ruth that our finest hour is not some great work of service or sacrifice, it's where we see our need of a Redeemer, shelter under Jesus' wings, and find his grace.

When life is hard, we can trust in the promises of God - he will never let us down.

Faced with the choice of returning to the familiarity and security of her Moabite family or sticking with her widowed mother-in-law, Ruth clung to Naomi and made a vow to go with her back to Bethlehem. She lived by faith in the promises of God and by sticking with God's people in God's land, she came under God's blessing.

Whatever our circumstances, there is no better place to be than in the Lord's hands - he will hold us fast.
