Graham’s Kitchen was started by Graham Livingstone and has been running every Saturday night for 12 years.

Graham’s Kitchen runs every Saturday night (7:30pm - 9:00pm) Dundee city centre ♥

We serve hot food and drinks and offer friendship and support to those in need, meeting behind the Overgate multi-storey car park ☕ 🍴

No referral needed, just turn up 🫶 On the night numbers vary and we are now routinely seeing around 30-40 people. Limited funding covers the volunteers preparing and serving hot food such as mince/vegetables or pastas and soups as well as offering hot drinks, sandwiches, fruit, and snacks. The groups are also dependant on local donations and currently 3 Greggs stores donate left over food on the Saturday (or Friday) which is picked up by the volunteers. Broughty Ferry

Any food left over on the night is donated various places such as Lily Walker Centre, Jericho House and The Salvation Army. The service is self-funding and self-supporting

We also have requests for sleeping bags, blankets, clothes, gloves/hats, and other items of clothing and hygiene products such as Toothpaste/toothbrushes/deodorant/shower gels etc. Currently we have 5 teams which operate each Saturday and each team takes turn about to provide the service which is completely volunteered in their own time. Greville Ramsay, who is part of the Cathedral team, has been involved for just under 3 years now and says it is immensely fulfilling and feels very privileged to be able to help some of the neediest people in the city. He says “As you can imagine the people who come along are very much at rock bottom and many are addicts, often with mental health issues. They tend to be very appreciative and although the food is important, they mostly benefit from being treated as human beings.”

Saturday evening was another great success, even whilst the winds were howling, our volunteers, Donna, Rosie and Maureen fed around 20 guests.

Our guests enjoyed mince and potatoes, lots of lovely bakery items and our dear friends Guru Nanak Gurdwara Dundee managed to come along with their lovely homemade food.

It was a quick turn around but a successful evening.

The Cathedral Team were on last night and had a very enjoyable, if cold, evening with just over 30 guests who turned up for usual mince/tatties, tea/coffee, biscuits etc which went down very well.

Despite the slightly lower numbers with takeaway bags with donations from the Dream Team and Greggs it meant that we provided food for about 50-60 overall.

A fantastic team of volunteers helping me out including Gabrielle, Mairi, Robert, Maria and Barry - thank you!

After our summer reset went so well we have decided to run an autumn reset and are looking for new participants🙂

6 week short course looking at the value of being outside in our local green spaces and using techniques to support our emotional and mental wellbeing.

Team 1 on last night, a really good night with lots of compliments how good the food was.

We welcomed around 45 to the kitchen.

Food made and given out was:
🍛 Chicken Curry and Rice (By Johnnny)
🍝 Cheesy Bolognaise Pasta (By Elaine)
🍏 Apple Crumbles (By Elaine).

All guests were given a Greggs bag of food to take away.

Clothes, towels and toiletries handed out.

Thanks to all our volunteers for all the hard work they do before, during and after the kitchen (picking/bagging up Gregg's, filling flasks, making food, helping on night, collecting donations of clothes/toiletries).

Without you all the kitchen wouldn't operate, thank you so much ❤️

Vineyard Team on last Saturday, welcoming around 25-30 to kitchen.

Serving and making
Pasta bolognese, another hot dish provided as well as baked potatoes.

We also welcomed our friends from Guru Nanak Gurdwara Dundee who served a delicious curry.
