♻️ Another Brilliant Swap Shop in Devizes!
A huge thank‑you to everyone who donated, collected, sorted, shared, and supported. Together, we’ve kept hundreds of items in use and out of the incinerators!
And of course a big thanks got our partners, St James' Church, Devizes, Chippenham Uniform Exchange , and Fairtrade Devizes.
Here’s what our community rehomed this month:
• 📚 Books: 244
• 🧸 Toys: 477
• 👕 Uniform: 50
• 🫖 Other items: 199
🌍 Total weight of goods rehomed: 347.5kg
That’s almost a third of a tonne given a second life, all thanks to the people of Devizes choosing reuse over waste.
Let’s keep the momentum going and make July’s Swap even better 💚

UPDATE: The sheep have been returned. Thank you to everyone who looked out for them and thank you to those who returned them. I really do appreciate it.

Good afternoon, this is to the two ladies in the image below who stole the two nativity sheep from outside St James Church, Devizes, at 23:34 on the night of 1st January. Thank you for being kind enough to keep looking at the CCTV cameras. Please can you now return these to the church as a lot of work went into making them and they are not yours to steal; they are for the community to enjoy. If they are returned we will not take the matter any further.

Love singing carols? We have not one but two services this Sunday (21st) designed just for this.
😁At 11:00 we have our Family Carol Service - carol singing and an interactive Christmas story.
🕯️At 18:30 we have our 9 Lessons & Carols - a beautiful, peaceful, candle-lit service with carol singing and the traditional readings.

Want a real-life and full scale nativity with donkeys, sheep and a Bethlehem town made of straw? Head to The Piggery Farm Shop! It is wonderful and the art work is beautiful. You can also grab a coffee or hot chocolate from the shop! Everything you need in one place.

Are you missing someone this Christmas?

Christmas is often called the season of joy, but for many it is also a season of grief. When someone we love is missing, at a time often assumed to be one of celebration, the lights can seem dimmer, the songs quieter, the table emptier.

Come and join us at our "Remembering and Thanksgiving".

From 4:30pm to 5:00pm there will a short, reflective service for you to join if you wish. This will be followed by an informal time to remember, when the church will be open for you to use as you feel.

During this time, you can sit and listen to the music, light a candle, pray and share with God how you are doing and ask for Him to be with you, write the name of your loved one on a love heart, or simply sit, rest, and be still. Whether you come to the service, use the reflective time afterwards, or attend both, and however long you stay, you will be very welcome. There will also be members of our pastoral team available to chat to or pray with.
