This coming Saturday we’ll be looking at who or what has inspired you. You’ll hear about inspiration gained from everything from Call the Midwife to many more stories besides.

Please do let me know if you have a story to tell about who has inspired you. I’d love to hear from you.

Around 3000 years ago King Solomon wrote, ‘There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens..’, well my dear friends, the time has come for the season called Quest to come to an end after 4 wonderful years.

We of course leave with over 100 Quest sessions under our belts, fond memories, great friendships, expanded world views and for those with a faith, hopefully a slightly greater depth to our sense of what might lie just beyond our understanding.

We aren’t shutting the doors just yet though. We will have a session on inspiration in September where I’d very much welcome your input about people or events that have inspired you. In October, perhaps appropriately, we’ll be looking at beginnings and endings and then at our last gathering in November we’ll look back to remember and celebrate all that has been.

Quest has been what it is because of you, and we can’t thank you enough for your encouragement, support, tidying and clearing up each week.

This month at Quest.. (Sat 2 Aug)

Ozzy Osbourne’s Life of Faith

Ozzy Osbourme, who died on 22nd July, is famous for his dark satanic stage act, but behind the black eyeliner and nail polish was a man of faith.
We will take a look at his life and ask questions like: How can someone who had such a chaotic life still maintain a faith in God? What does a perfect person of faith look like? (do they even exist?)
We might even blast out a Black Sabbath track or two so bring your earplugs!

You'll find us in the usual place, 5-7pm at the Quaker Meeting House, Devizes, SN10 2AE
All are welcome ☕

Looking forward to seeing you there fully rested after our July break.

This month at Quest (Saturday,7th June)
New Pope - New Hope?

Popes have been in the news quite a lot recently. Now there is a new pope, Leo, and having read some of his writings, it looks like things might be beginning to change.

This week we’ll take a look at some the ‘interesting’ popes of the past and those more recent and have a think about whether things are changing in the world’s second largest religious denomination (after Islam Sunni)?

Find us in the usual place, 5pm to 7pm at the Quaker Meeting House, Devizes, SN10 2AE.

This Saturday at Quest (3rd May)

What is the nature of God?

We use the word God like we know what it means, but do we really?

What is God like?

Is God more male than female?

Is God just a reflection of ourselves?

This Saturday we will be exploring this huge subject that has kept human brains busy ever since we realised we had a conscious mind. (that being said, we’ll try and get an answer within around 90 minutes!)

Find us in the usual place from 5pm to 7pm at the Quaker Meeting House, Devizes, SN10 2AE.
All are welcome ☕

This month at Quest.. (5 April 25)

What does it mean to be blessed?
I was walking the dog on one of these beautiful sunny days we’ve been having and was feeling thankful and blessed. But… what does it mean to be blessed?

What do we mean when we say ‘ahh bless them’?

This Saturday we will be exploring the world of blessings and trying to work out what it means to us and to others.
Come and have your thoughts heard or just to observe and listen with a cup of great coffee ☕
All are welcome.

This Saturday at Quest.. (1st March)
We will be thinking about the stories we tell ourselves and others about our lives and asking if and how we can retell or reframe them to help us navigate life better.

Have you had something unwelcome or unexpected happen, yet when you look back you can see that it potentially helped you end up in a better place?
Often things like this can be seen as a Lesson or a Blessing in the wonderful sight that is Hind!

Come and have your thoughts heard in our warm, friendly, safe space. ☕

Find us in the usual place from 5-7pm
The Quaker Meeting House, Kennet View, Sussex Wharf, The Nursery, Devizes SN10 2AE

This week at Quest..
‘Understanding how we tick…’

Over hundreds of years there have been many attempts made to categorise our personalities into different types.
But…
Can we put our personalities into boxes?
Is the process helpful?

What might we learn about ourselves and others?
We will be taking a look one form of personality profiling called the Enneagram which was developed by a 4th century Egyptian Christian mystic called Evagrius Ponticus (what a great name!).
Enneagram gets its name from the nine (ennea) pointed picture (gram) inscribed in a circle that is used to describe the personality types.

🎶Guess who's back, back again, Quest is back, BRING a friend! 🎶 🕺

Woo Hoo…We’re back this Saturday,
4th January at 5pm, discussing Christmas traditions.
Christmas is almost over for us here in the UK but for many countries Christmas doesn’t happen until 6th or 7th January. We do have Epiphany though on 6th January when those kings and camels apparently showed up.
So, as it’s not too late, we thought we’d take a look at some of the ordinary and some of the weird and wonderful Christmas traditions from our own experiences and around the world.

If you have any unusual or non-UK based Christmas traditions to share we’d love to hear from you on Saturday. If you need a picture on the screen to help explain it, please let me know.

We’re also going to be providing some tasty sweet tea time treats too.
Please feel free to bring something else to drink if tea & coffee doesn’t cut it for you.

Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday and getting going again for our 4th year!
Find us at the usual place - Quaker Meeting House, Devizes, SN10 2AE
5pm-7ish.
All are welcome 🐕🐇🐫

CANCELLED. Sorry about that. It’s the flipping storm that’s to blame. Hope y’all stay safe.

On Saturday, 7th December at 5pm:
It’s FESTIVE FUN Time! 🎄
We thought it would be good to celebrate the Christmas season and our third year of Quest by having some festive fun together.
We will provide the seasonal ambiance, some lovely sweet tea time type treats and the usual (excellent!) teas and coffee

Wear your jolliest Christmas jumper! 😏

Bring a youthful picture of yourself when you were a creature of ravishing loveliness (which I’m sure you still are!)

Something else to drink if tea and coffee isn’t festive enough for you.

So we can make sure there is enough yummy stuff to go around please can you let me know if you are thinking of coming along on Saturday, either ping us a message or email:

This month at Quest:
This Saturday, 2nd November at 5pm:

‘Are we a prisoner of our own thoughts’

Mystic Richard Rohr once said ‘you don’t have your thoughts, your thoughts have you’.

What if our thoughts are so powerful that they end up imprisoning us?
Come along on Saturday to explore this interesting and important territory for humankind.
Our splendid coffee available from 5pm ☕
All are welcome 🐕‍🦺🐈🦄

For our October Quest (Sat 5 Oct)
we will be hearing from our dear Quest’s own David Gray with his story about being a gay Christian man and his struggle with the question that faces so many: should we live true to what some people tell us the Bible says or live true to ourselves?
As with all our topics, it will be handled with great sensitivity and in a safe space.

5pm to 7pm at the Quaker Meeting House, Devizes, SN10 2AE ☕

All are welcome
