Inclusive Community Church

Inclusive Community Church Inclusive Community Church - serving Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole, and surrounding area since 1979 We look forward to meeting and welcoming you!

Inclusive Community Church was founded in the LGBT+ community in Bournemouth in 1979 and has been Celebrating God’s Love for All ever since. You will find a warm welcome whoever you are — straight or gay or bis*xual, trans or cis or non-binary, conservative or liberal, old or young, rich or poor, married or single, abled or differently abled, any race or nationality. At Inclusive Community Church

diversity is celebrated as a special gift from God. Church should be a place where you can be real—no pretending, no hiding who you are. Our weekly worship service is every Sunday at 11 am in our church building on Hannington Road in the Pokesdown area of Bournemouth. We broadcast our Sunday worship services on our website each week for those who cannot attend in person. We also have Small Groups, Bible Studies, Coffee Mornings, Prayer Services, and other options. Our church building is registered for Marriages of both same-s*x and opposite-s*x couples, and our Pastor is an Authorised Person with the Registrar's Office. Inclusive Community Church

We're making repairs!

Our church building is one of the first premises owned by a predominantly LGBT+ organisation in the UK. It is also where the first ever legal same s*x marriage in a church in the UK took place. And it is a place that continues to mean so much to so many as it continues to be an integral part of the ministry we have been doing since our church bought the building in 1991.

But a building that was built in 1896 needs some extra love and care from time to time. That's why we are re-rendering our exterior front wall. And we need your help.

It's our D.I.Y. Project of Love! Thanks to one of our congregants who recently was granted asylum and leave to remain in the UK, we're able to save much needed funds. He was a renderer/plasterer in the country he fled and he has graciously volunteered to lead our Motley Crew of DIYers! And we have a second asylum seeker who also was a renderer/plasterer in the country he fled who is helping us as he awaits a decision on his asylum hearing.

But we need help! Our work got behind schedule as our scaffording was delayed by one of their workers who is injured. The scaffolding is finally all up as of today and we need a full on work day tomorrow.

We need you to come along and help knock off all the old rendering. This part doesn't take much talent or special skills--just some hammering and the occasional chiselling. And you need to be ok with climbing a ladder to get up onto the scaffolding.

If that's you then please come along tomorrow (Saturday) and help! We really, really could use you! We'll be going from 8 am. Come all day if you can, or any part of the day that you can. You'll get a bit dusty so wear some older clothes. We have proper worker face masks for you so you won't breath in anything bad.

If you are not physically able to help with the work but still want to join in the fun, we have a few other odd jobs that need doing around the church, and we always need someone to make the teas and sort the biscuits! So come on along.

And if you're able to make a donation to help pay for the scaffolding (£750) and the materials (about £800), check out our donate page to make your donation:

Here's a few early pictures of what's been accomplished already.

WE HAVE SOME AMAZING NEWS! 🥳Due to ongoing roadworks in Westover Road / Gervis Place, this year's Parade on Saturday 11th July 2026 will start at West Overcliff Drive and travel along West Cliff Road onto West Hill Road, Poole Hill, through the Triangle, down Bourne Avenue onto Braidley Road and into Meyrick Park. 📍

Whilst we do love starting on the East Cliff, we’re so happy we are able to parade through the triangle which has been a very special safe space for our community for many years! Be sure to show our appreciation with smiles, chants, waves and plenty of pride! 🌈

Starting at 11am. Everyone is welcome to watch the parade along the procession route. We have so many incredible people signed up to take part in the parade this year too – it’s our biggest and most colourful yet! 🫶

Please share with as many people as you can! We can’t wait to celebrate Bourne Free Pride with every single one of you! 🚶‍♀️🏳️‍🌈🚶🥳🚶‍♂️

When : Saturday 11th July 2026
Time: Starts at 11am
Participants will be notified separately for arrival times.
