This Sunday, we recognized the Indigenous Day of Prayer. We were honoured to be led in worship by our Right Relations Circle and joined by Dorothy Lee Lowe, a member of the Credit First Nations, to share her story with us.
Dorothy shared while holding an Eagle feather, which is meant to be a symbol of telling the truth. We are grateful for her story that helps us connect with our First Nations siblings and consider how to better engage in the work of reconciliation.
Our children created artwork of many native birds to colour our space as we consider the birds over the summer months.

Please pray for all those who are facing a loss of their homes, families, and security.

A catastrophic earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 struck off the coast of Mindanao Island in the southern Philippines on June 8, 2026, causing widespread damage and destruction.

At least 45 people have lost their lives and over 450 others have been injured; 40,674 people have been displaced. Families are camping outside their homes, on roadsides, and in open spaces to feel safe overnight.

Hundreds of aftershocks have continued to shake the region, further complicating rescue and recovery efforts.

The United Church of Canada is committed to working in partnership. We are responding to the crisis in the Philippines with Mission and Service partners ACT Alliance, National Council of Churches in the Philippines, and United Church of Christ in the Philippines.

This past Sunday was Music Sunday! We have been so blessed by a year of music ministry. Our hearts are full of music from these wonderful gifts from our chancel choir, children's chorus, resonance band, guest artists, and all those who offer music in this place.

Happy Pride! IUC celebrated Pride this Sunday in worship as well as with the community at our Pride BBQ! What a perfect day to be outside and celebrating together. We continued our party into the evening with our resonance service themed “Be Yourself”.
