๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Pentecost Feast โ€“ The Descent of the Holy Spirit ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

On this blessed Feast of Pentecost, we remember the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles gathered in the Upper Room under the leadership of the Mother of God. The fearful disciples were transformed into courageous witnesses, sent into the world with divine strength and purpose.

During todayโ€™s message, Achen reminded us that Pentecost is not merely a historical event, but a living spiritual reality in the life of every believer. The same Holy Spirit that descended upon the Apostles dwells within us through Holy Baptism and the Holy Mooron Anointing.

Yet, though we have received the Holy Spirit, our thoughts, actions, and daily lives can often prevent the Spirit from working powerfully within us. We are called not to remain confined in our own โ€œupper roomsโ€ of fear, confusion, and limitation, but to become true witnesses sent into the world.

Achen beautifully reflected on the contrast between the confusion of Babel and the unity of Pentecost. At Babel, language divided humanity; at Pentecost, through the Holy Spirit, people of many nations heard the message of God in one spirit and understanding.

The message reminded us that the fruits of the Holy Spirit โ€” love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control โ€” must become visible in our lives. When the Spirit bears fruit within us, our relationships, homes, and communities are transformed with clarity, understanding, and grace.

As we kneel in prayer during the Pentecost service, may we sincerely ask the Lord to renew and strengthen the Holy Spirit within us, fill us with His love, and help us understand one another in truth and compassion.

May the Holy Spirit continue to dwell and work powerfully within us all.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Holy Qurbono โ€“ First Sunday after New Sunday (April 19, 2026)

We are blessed to have the Holy Qurbono celebrated today by Rev. Fr. John Samuel, along with our Vicar Rev. Fr. Dr. Thomas George and Rev. Fr. Philipose Philip Thevarkattil.

Fr. John Samuel Achen spoke about the encounter between Simon Peter and Jesus Christ. Peter never thought he would deny Jesus, but it happened. Man can fall at any time before God. That is why our Church Fathers always say โ€œKurielaisonโ€ (Kyrie eleison โ€“ Lord, have mercy), because they were aware that man can fall at any time.

Any unexpected or difficult situation may arise in our lives, and we may unconsciously feel that God has left us. But in reality, God is trying to draw us back, even in our unconscious mind (where the devil may be at work), while we may still affirm our faith in our conscious mind.

The tradition that Saint Peter cries at every dawn because of his denial of Jesus reflects the depth of his repentance. While the Bible says that Peter wept bitterly immediately after the realization, this tradition shows the lasting impact of that moment and the sincerity of his remorse.

Our Lord calls us to be disciples, not just believers. We begin by believing, but we must grow into discipleship. A pious person may always seek from God as a provider, but a disciple desires what he can offer to God, consciously striving to overcome and destroy the fruits of evil within the unconscious mind.
Simon of Cyrene, while bearing the cross, was not merely praying for the burden to be removed, but was content because he understood that Christ was with him as he carried it.

Let us continue to cleanse ourselves through repentance and walk in the mercy and grace of our Lord.

๐ŸŒธ Pascha โ€“ The Feast of Resurrection ๐ŸŒธ

Easter, known as Pascha, is the celebration of the glorious Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ โ€” the victory of life over death.

On the eve of Pascha, the Church gathers for the Resurrection Service, beginning in darkness. From the eternal flame, the light is kindled and shared among the faithful, proclaiming the risen Christ and the spreading of His message of hope and salvation.

In the Malankara Orthodox tradition, Pascha is a time of great joy โ€” a celebration that brings together families and the faithful in thanksgiving and fellowship.

The Resurrection reminds us that light overcomes darkness, life conquers death, and hope is renewed in Christ.

May the joy of the risen Lord fill our hearts and homes.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ The Great & Holy Saturday ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

Holy Saturday is a sacred and profound day in the life of the Church. It stands between the sorrow of the Crucifixion and the joy of the Resurrection.

๐Ÿ”น Day of Rest
Christ rests in the tomb, observing the blessed Sabbath โ€” a holy rest after completing the work of salvation.

๐Ÿ”น The Tomb is Life-Giving
The tomb is not a place of defeat or decay, but a source of victory, power, and new life.

๐Ÿ”น Descent into Hades
Christ descends into the realm of the dead to proclaim life, breaking the bonds of death and setting captives free.

๐Ÿ”น Victory Over Death
By His death, Christ destroys death itself, conquers Satan, and opens the way to eternal life.

๐Ÿ”น The Keys of Death and Hades
Christ, the Author of life, holds authority over death and grants life to those who hear His voice.

๐Ÿ”น Day of Silence and Stillness
A sacred day of quiet reflection โ€” the Church enters into deep prayer, contemplation, and calm vigil.

๐Ÿ”น A Time of Waiting
Though marked by sorrow, it is also a day of hope โ€” waiting with expectation for the light of the Resurrection.

๐Ÿ”น Remembrance of the Departed
The faithful remember their departed loved ones in prayer, trusting in Christโ€™s victory over death.

๐Ÿ”น Call to Reflection
Holy Saturday invites us to silence, repentance, and deeper faith as we prepare to receive the joy of Easter.

โœ๏ธ Good Friday โœ๏ธ

On this sacred day of Good Friday, we stand at the foot of the Cross, reflecting on the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Great Lent has been a journey of repentance, prayer, fasting, and charityโ€”preparing our hearts to encounter the risen Lord. Through fasting, we learn to depend on God; through prayer, we draw closer to Him; and through acts of love, we grow in compassion and humility.

The Cross reminds us that Christ gave Himself fully for our salvation. As we meditate on His suffering and love, let us turn our hearts toward Him, seeking forgiveness, renewal, and a deeper relationship with our Heavenly Father.

May this holy day lead us from repentance to resurrection, and from sorrow to the hope of eternal life.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Washing of the Feet ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

During the Mystical Supper, our Lord Jesus Christ revealed the depth of His love through an act of profound humilityโ€”washing the feet of His disciples.

In this sacred moment, He showed that true greatness is found in humility and service. By lowering Himself, He made known the very heart of His ministryโ€”perfect love offered to all.

The washing of the feet reminds us that Christ gives Himself to each of us, calling us to receive Him and to reflect that same love in our lives.

May this holy day guide us to walk in humility, serve one another, and grow in the love of Christ.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ Gregorian Worship & Annual Retreat๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

We were blessed to gather for the Gregorian Worship and Annual Retreat, a time of prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

The service was enriched by the message of Rev. Fr. John Samuel, who reflected on the significance of Palm Sundayโ€”calling us to enter into holiness and to be clothed in spirituality, just as garments before our Lord in His triumphal entry.

He reminded us to grow in spiritual fruit and to lift our lives in witness, like the palm leaves held high in praise, shining with faith and devotion.

In the beauty of candlelight and worship, the congregation came together in unity, seeking Godโ€™s grace and deepening our spiritual journey.

We thank God for this blessed time of prayer and fellowship.
