📖 See you tonight at the Book Club! 📖
(Note: This meeting will be in the Reception Room - 2nd Floor)

Author Danica Roache () will be with us in-person to discuss her book, "Five Seasons of Charlie Francis"

"A member of Glooscap First Nation, Danica Roache is a mixed-ancestry writer living in Punamu'kwati'jk (Dartmouth) with her partner, four kids, two cats, and a dog. When not writing or chasing after her brood, she can be found reading, making elaborate baked goods, and listening to the same three songs on repeat." (via strongnations.com)

Anne Meredith Barry graduated from OCA in Toronto in 1954 and became a full time painter. After many visits to paint and teach in Newfoundland and Labrador she finally settled there in 1986. Her Newfoundland and Labrador works express her love for the rugged, engaging environment.

In 1998 she received an Honorary Doctorate from Memorial University and in 2003 she was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for her support of the arts in Newfoundland and Labrador. In 2007 her work was featured in St. John’s at The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery.

Elaine talks about her experience on a recent trip to Germany 🇩🇪

Read about it on the blog 💬

I was there by invitation from AMIS, the Association for Music in International Schools. I was invited to be the guest conductor for the European high school honor choir last March in Poland.

The Passion of Christ in Times of Adversity Exhibit is in its final week. Join us for one more tour on Sunday, April 12 at 12:20pm. Hear from curator, Dr. Olga Sobkovych, and one of its artistic contributors, Olya Tkachenko.

Olya shares some thoughts on our blog 💬

Regarding the artworks: all four artists—Osyp Sorokhtey, Otto Pankok, Danylo Movchan, and Katia Lisova—speak about the difficult events that happened in their lifetimes. This is what unites these works: the artist reflecting on human suffering in times of adversity.
