✨️ We can't wait to welcome the Spark Ensemble for our final Musical Mosaic of the season! 🎶 Join us outside under the bell tower (weather permitting) on Tuesday, June 9 at 12:00 pm!

Spark is an ensemble of Chinese instrumentalists with the mission of challenging boundaries and exploring possibilities with music for Chinese instruments. Its core group comprises Gavin Zhang, an erhuist trained in Beijing and Vancouver; Matthew P**n, a conductor and music professor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire; Mike Liu, a sheng player, tubist, and secondary school music teacher for the Toronto District School Board; and Tracy Chan, a ruan specialist trained by the Hong Kong Music Office.

We invite you to join us for 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑀𝑎𝑡𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑤 𝑆ℎ𝑒𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑑, a deeply moving contemporary oratorio by Craig Hella Johnson, on Sunday, June 21 at 3:00 pm. Through music, poetry, and storytelling, this powerful work reflects on love, healing, dignity, and our shared humanity.

Featuring nearly 100 intergenerational musicians from the TEMC Sanctuary Choir, Modern Sound Collective, and Chamber Orchestra, this special performance offers an opportunity to gather in community, remembrance, and hope.

We invite you to continue the conversation through a series of community events exploring inclusion, belonging, and the ongoing work of building a more compassionate world. ❤️

Cathy is a spiritual director, retreat facilitator, author, and award-winning singer-songwriter who has led Taizé-style sung prayer gatherings for over 20 years.

Our next Musical Mosaic is coming up on Tuesday, May 12 at 12:00 pm! Join us to hear the wonderful GGS Contemporary Music Collective!! 🎶

This is a student-led group at the Glenn Gould School dedicated to the exploration of new music. Throughout the season, the collective meets for monthly workshops and discussions, which help students to build skills for careers in contemporary music. This recital will feature world premieres of student-composed art songs and instrumental works, with texts written by University of Toronto humanities majors.
