Today we remembered the Saints in the church and in our lives, and lit candles in memory of loved ones who have left this life. In her sermon, Deacon Grace reminded us that we are all saints in Christ.

"When we go out into the wider world, it's still not very common to see a woman priest. In the spring, we had a small group of men protesting against women ministers outside our church. According to their loud megaphone-wielding leader, I am leading you all to the fires of hell because I am a woman!

Yet on this 50th anniversary of the ordination of women as priests in the Anglican Church of Canada, there's much to celebrate! I stand on the shoulders of Mother Alice and all the other strong, spirit-inspired women priests who came before me.

And, more importantly, the church has learned that when we consider who is included (or not), we can't do much better than to look to the commandments of Jesus, to love God and love our neighbour, to love one another." - Rev. Louise

This Sunday Oct 25 at 10:30 am is our monthly choral Book of Common Prayer (BCP) Communion service when we enjoy the older language of the BCP. We'll close the service with a heartfelt singing of the hymn How Great Thou Art. All welcome.
