WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY: SUNDAY OF PENTECOST 🔥

▪️9:30AM - All-ages Worship
▪️11AM - BAS Choral Eucharist with Global worship songs

--------

"Hello to my St. Matthew's family,

We know that this world isn’t what it is meant to be, but do we understand what this means? Think about those words again: “this world is not what it should be.” If this is true, then why do we so often give our allegiance to this world? Why do we so often get pulled in by the allures of this world? Why do we let this world define us or anything else we believe? There is good in this world, but to even understand and really see this good, we need something better than this world.

The truth is that we are exiles in this world, because we do not belong to it, we belong instead to God’s Kingdom. God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit is our king, which means nothing else could ever measure up. It means that we actually have a far greater hope than anything else can provide. It means we are strengthened and guided by a king and Kingdom that can and does utterly transform our lives and world. Join us this Sunday as we explore what it means to be faithful to God’s Kingdom while living in a broken world.

A hint: God is always close at hand.

God bless you.

Your brother in Christ,
Rev. Philip Stonhouse

In this season of Rogation, in preparation for the Ascension of the Lord, we pray for the industry and commerce of our nation, and beg God for plentiful harvests and freedom from calamity.

Collect: ALMIGHTY and merciful God, from whom cometh every good and perfect gift: Bless, we beseech thee, the labours of thy people, and cause the earth to bring forth her fruits abundantly in
their season, that we may with grateful hearts give thanks to thee for the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
