We are in Harrowsmith Ont today. Enjoying meeting all the parts of Free Methodist church body in Canada at the eastern Ontario regional gathering. 33 different churches attending, and this is 6 of 8 gatherings across Canada.

I've been asked for a business card a few times since starting at PFMC in January. This week I finally created and ordered them... and I got some help from Chat GPT. The business card has an AI image of the church but.....

Is this the right question: "Did you enjoy church today?"

Many innocently ask this on the drive home Sunday, all the while forgetting a simple truth: Church isn't for me.

At church I worship God, not me. The Creator of heaven and earth is worthy of my attention, time, effort and worship. It's only a bonus if I enjoy it. In fact the beautiful music, comfortable chairs, coffee time and snacks, great friends and even good Biblical preaching can deceive me to think that church is for me to enjoy - when the real purpose of church is to corporately worship the God of heaven and earth. Jesus didn't come to entertain me, He came to save me!
So what would you say is the right question:
Did God enjoy church today?
Was Jesus honored by his body today?
Did I truly worship God today?
..or perhaps we shouldn't ask each other, we should just ask Him :)
