As we step into September, we’re excited for all that God has in store for us this month! It’s a season full of opportunity to grow closer to Him, to deepen our roots in community, and to seek more understanding of His Word and His plans for our lives. “The devil wants to use a setback to defeat you, but God wants to use a setback to set you up for what He wants to do in your life.”
 
Yesterday, Pastor Mark concluded our Summer By Faith series by diving into three kinds of faith. While we love talking about faith that brings down giants or parts Red Seas, Pastor Mark unpacked the critical importance of having a continuing faith, a faith that doesn’t quit through suffering, separation, or unexpected setbacks.
 
As Pastor Mark shared, “When you can’t trace His hand, you can still trust His heart”. Even when prayers remain unanswered this side of eternity, God is still in charge and working all things together for our good. Whatever season you find yourself walking through, don’t give up, keep trusting Him!

Yesterday’s message gave us a simple but challenging question to carry into the week: Is God getting our first, or our leftovers?
 
Through Abel’s story, Pastor Mark reminded us that faith puts God first. He shared how that can shape every area of our lives, from giving God the first part of our day to intentionally putting Him first in our resources. This week, before the schedule fills, the notifications start and everything begins competing for our attention, let’s make room for God first. He is worthy of our best!

If you haven't heard yet, we want to share with you an important parking update!

Our South Lot is currently closed for construction for 4-6 weeks. Our North Lot (accessible parking available) and our East Lot remain open and available.

To help reduce congestion and keep space available for guests, we're asking everyone to consider our overflow parking lots or carpooling:
- Greenbank Hunt Club Centre (beside Subway)
- Knoxdale Public School (main lot)
- Carpooling is also a great option! Check out Ottawa Ride Match for details:

As well, a few reminders about parking:
- Please abide by City of Ottawa parking by-laws and respect all posted signage.
- Illegal parking may result in ticketing or towing by the City of Ottawa. (This is outside Woodvale's control.)
- If you have an accessible parking pass, please display it clearly when parked in an accessible space.

Our Annual Volunteer Appreciation BBQ, hosted by our Pastors and Board, is happening on September 9 at 6PM, and it's for YOU!
