In our governance, we encourage members to share responsibilities and activities, based on egalitarian, democratic and participatory values. In our worship, Or Haneshamah, as a member of the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation, believes that Judaism is the product of the collective experience of the Jewish people. We creatively explore our religious, spiritual, and cultural practices in order to r

evitalize and revalue our Judaism. Liberal in outlook, yet respecting tradition, Reconstructionism is the newest of the four branches of organized Canadian Judaism. We hope to see you at one of our bi-monthly Shabbat services on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, September through June.

We know you're in the midst of getting ready for Passover/Pesach. We know you're buying matzvah, registering for the Passover-Prep workshop and Community Second Seder. We get it, you're busy. We at OrH are thinking a few weeks out though, to the end of Passover, and we just don't want you to miss out! Our Rabbinic Studnet Intern Michelle Katz will be visiting, singing at Kabbalat Shabbat, acting as our Freylekh Friday Guest Speaker and offering a Bagel-themed lecture at a post-Passover Bagel Brunch.

Purim is almost here, and that means it's time for Or Haneshamah's annual Purim carnival, with games and activities run by our very own Bnei Mitzvah Families of BMG. Join us from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, March 1st. Make Mishloach Manot to share with loved ones on Pruim. Listen to the Story of Esther and shake a granger.

This year, we're also be continuing our Hamantaschen bake off! Do you have THE best filling? Is you cookie dough the MOST delicious? Show us what you've got!
