Holding onto bitterness weighs heavy, but the answer isn’t just trying harder to forgive.
Scripture shows us something deeper. We forgive because we have been forgiven. Not partially, not conditionally, but fully through Jesus Christ.
Until we see the depth of God’s mercy toward us, forgiveness toward others will always feel forced. But when we understand what Christ has done on the cross, our hearts begin to change.
Forgiveness isn’t rooted in what others deserve. It’s rooted in what we have received.
Bring your hurt to God. Remember His grace toward you. From there, forgiveness begins.
“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
