On April 23 and 30, we walked south to north from Mount Hope to Pier 4 Point, completing CrossWalk, our prayer walk across Hamilton.
We walked and watched. We sang and celebrated. We praised and paused.
We saw the city up close and personal: its beautiful and broken, its strong and small, its powerful and poor.
We stopped to sing "Peace be to these streets" at the corner of King and James. It was powerful to pray at the crossroads of our city, opposite Jackson Square, asking our Good Father to unleash shalom, thriving and flourishing in our community.
Here is part of the morning liturgy we prayed at the start of each day...
Lord God,
we walk today in love for this city.
We ask for Your peace
to rest upon Hamilton.
Bless its families,
churches,
schools,
leaders,
and neighbourhoods.
Bring healing where there is brokenness,
freedom where there is bo***ge,
hope where there is despair,
and light where there is darkness.
May Your kingdom come
and Your will be done
in this city as it is in heaven.
Amen.
We encourage you to take a moment now to pray this prayer over our city.
We have reached 66% of our CrossWalk fundraising goal. Fimd the link in bio or go to gohop.ca/crosswalk if you would like to partner with us. The CanadaHelps campaign closes on May 5.
