All Saints Church, Hamilton

All Saints Church, Hamilton All Saints is a community of faith rooted in Hamilton for 150 years. Join us.

IN 2023 we opened a new building space at the corner of King and Queen and we're in the process of renewing what it means to be 'Church' and find and follow God in this place.

What a meaningful and joyful way to celebrate Pentecost! Yesterday, Michael Bowyer, Doug Downey, Adedayo Olomodosi, and Kathy Thomas were ordained to the diaconate, the Reverend David Shumaker was ordained to the priesthood, and the Reverend Bradley Markus was received into the Anglican Communion.

It was standing room only, with over 400 people joining together to celebrate the next steps in their faithful ministry!

In a time when many q***r and trans people are facing hostility, presence matters.

Fiercely Loved is a chance to gather in worship, community, and solidarity — 2S&LGBTQIA+ people and allies together.

Join us Sunday, June 7, at 4:00 pm at Christ’s Church Cathedral with Bishop Susan. Refreshments and conversation to follow.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK
Bring us, O Lord God, at our last awakening into the house and gate of Heaven,
to enter into that gate and dwell in that house,
where there shall be no darkness nor dazzling, but one equal light;
no noise nor silence, but one equal music;
no fears or hopes, but one equal possession;
no ends or beginnings, but one equal eternity,
in the habitations of thy glory and dominion,
world without end.

By John Donne (1572 - 1631)

Our annual Pride Service Fiercely Loved returns Sunday, June 7th, at 4:00 pm with Bishop Susan at Christ's Church Cathedral.

Jesus’ words, “this is my body,” are the theme for our Pride celebration this year. The words “This is my body” form one of the high points in the Eucharistic Prayers, while also taking a page from Paul, who thinks about the church as a body with many parts with Christ as its head (1 Corinthians 12.12-27). So, those gathering at this year’s Fiercely Loved, allies and 2S&LGBTQIA+ people together, we will all hear a proclamation where Jesus says of us, “This is my body.” Or possibly, “You are my body.”

PRAYER OF THE WEEK

When our eyes do not see the gravity of racial justice,
Shake us from our slumber and open our eyes, O Lord.
When out of fear we are frozen into inaction,
Give us a spirit of bravery, O Lord.
When we try our best but say the wrong things,
Give us a spirit of humility, O Lord.
When the chaos of this dies down,
Give us a lasting spirit of solidarity, O Lord.
When it becomes easier to point fingers outwards,
Help us to examine our own hearts, O Lord.
God of truth, in your wisdom, Enlighten Us.
God of hope in your kindness, Heal Us.
Creator of All People, in your generosity, Guide Us.
Racism breaks your heart,
break our hearts for what breaks yours, O Lord.
Ever present God, you called us to be in relationship with one another and promised to dwell wherever two or three are gathered. In our community, we are many different people; we come from many different places, have many different cultures. Open our hearts that we may be bold in finding the riches of inclusion and the treasures of diversity among us. We pray in faith.

On Red Dress Day, we remember the Indigenous women and girls who have been taken from their families and communities through violence, neglect and systemic injustice, and we recognize the ways the church has historically been complicit in systems that have harmed Indigenous peoples. We choose to listen, learn and walk alongside our Indigenous siblings on the path of truth and justice.

PRAYER OF THE WEEK
Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous;
Teach me to serve thee as thou deservest;
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to seek for rest,
To labour and not to seek reward,
Save that of knowing that I do thy will.
