We are grateful for the support from our Recovery home friends! Come on out to enjoy good food, great company, and give back!

Giving back to the community is an important part of the recovery process. This month, in lieu of our residents’ game night, our residents will be volunteering with Wanner to support this community event.

Gather for Good Fundraising Dinner
August 8, 6:00pm at Picnic Shelter

Join us and invite your friends and family for fellowship, fun and a fundraising pasta dinner to raise funds for the church’s efforts to can meat at MCC’s canner facility in New Hamburg!

MCC ships cans of meat to its partners around the world, providing important nutrients when meat is hard to purchase. Weather permitting, we will eat outside in the picnic shelter.

The main course will be provided – please bring a salad or a dessert to share.
At the event, attendees will be encouraged to participate in the 1-95 fundraiser activity.

Sunday worship at Wanner will pause for the month of August as we embrace a season of intentional rest. This is not a break from being the church, but a sacred rhythm modelled in Scripture—a time to reconnect with God, one another, and ourselves.

During the month of August, we encourage you to:
Sabbath intentionally – Spend time with God without agenda.
Connect relationally – Be present with loved ones.
Reflect deeply – Consider what God has done and what lies ahead in our faith journey.

For those seeking structured worship, Preston Mennonite’s services remain open on Sundays at 10:30am. More info: https://prestonmennonite.com/worship

We will resume Sunday gatherings at Wanner in September, refreshed and renewed.

Wanner Church is going to the MCC Meat Cannery!
Food insecurity is an ongoing theme that we notice every day and now we will help to address these needs by raising funds to send a group of 20 Wanner & Porchlight volunteers to the MCC Meat Cannery to can chicken. MCC ships cans of meat to its partners around the world, providing important nutrients when meat is difficult to purchase.

You’re invited to be part of our team to can meat (chicken) on the meat canning line at MCC’s new permanent meat cannery in New Hamburg.
Date: Wednesday, September 30th
Time: 12:30 – 4pm
Location: MCC Hub, 65 Heritage Drive, New Hamburg (next to the MCC Thrift store)

Please confirm your interest in participating by contacting Dennis Flaming.

This Sunday enjoy a sundae! After worship, we welcome everyone to enjoy an ice cream sundae. Bring your favourite topping to share and enjoy time together with a cool summer treat!

Preston MC will be joining us for worship. Pastor Joel Wallman is speaking on what Paul had to say to the small churches, focusing on the church in Philippi which teaches us about how unity, mutual care, and removal of societal barriers are important for equity in the church.

We in the future have the benefit of seeing the scope of the Church’s history. Often we think of its humble beginning but don’t realize how small some of these churches were. This series is going to explore what Paul had to say to small churches of 15-30 people and what we today can learn from Paul’s letters. The church in Colossae teaches us about the importance of faith, love, hope, and prayer in our churches.
