Whatever your mind went to first this morning, before you were even fully awake ... that's the answer.

Jesus asked it three different ways. Where is your treasure? What is your eye fixed on? Who is actually your master? He wasn't scolding anyone. He was helping us find out what we already are ... because we are all seeking something, all the time, and most of it we never sat down and chose. It just accumulated.

This Sunday we begin a new series, Seek First, and we'll start where the sorting has to start. Not with a resolve to want better things. With the blood. Because we were bought out of an empty way of life with something that doesn't rust and can't be stolen ... and a conscience cleansed by Christ is the only conscience that can serve a living God without flinching. Then the songs get honest. I want You, nothing else. Everything we've counted valuable, held up next to knowing Jesus, and losing badly. That is not a mood we work ourselves into. That is what happens when we see Him clearly. And we'll finish where Martha's sister finished ... at His feet, having chosen the one thing that doesn't get taken away.

This is what worship is doing to us, slowly, week after week. Aiming our eyes. Reordering what we want. Turning a room of people who are seeking a hundred things into a people who seek Him first ... and the person beside you is helped along by your voice more than you know.

This past Saturday with over 65 volunteers, we served over 600 people at our Annual Block Party.🎉

It was a beautiful day of connecting with the surrounding community through food, fun, and our community partners!

Twenty six times, the same line.

Psalm 136 does something few songwriters today would risk. It lists what God has done ... creation, rescue, provision, the long walk through the wilderness ... and after every single item, the room says the same thing back. His faithful love endures forever. Again. And again. Until you stop hearing it as a phrase and start standing on it as solid ground.

That isn't poor songwriting ... it's discipleship. Some truths only get down into us by repetition, and this is one we'll need on a Tuesday when nothing feels faithful.

So this Sunday we'll do what God's people have always done. We'll name the great things He has done and ask the question that psalm keeps answering ... who is like Him. We'll sing His goodness out loud, because goodness kept private was never the point. We'll pick up a song that rings true today the same way it has for generations. And we'll leave holding a promise that runs ahead of us ... the God who has carried you this far will carry you all the way home.

This is what worship is actually for. Not a mood, not a music preference. It's God telling us who He is, and a people slowly formed by the telling ... people called out of darkness who can't help but say His praise out loud, wherever Monday finds them.

Bring whatever this week handed you. The refrain doesn't change.
