The truths we resist most are often the ones doing the deepest work in us.
When Jesus told His disciples that He was about to be betrayed and handed over to death, they heard the words ... but could not receive them. The idea of a suffering Messiah clashed with everything they had expected. It didn't fit the story they had written for Him. And so the words passed by, unprocessed, almost untouched.
But that truth ... the one they struggled to hold ... was the very centre of everything. The cross was not a detour from the plan. It was the plan. And it is that truth, received slowly and deeply over a lifetime of worship, that forms us into something we could never become on our own.
Worship is never neutral. Scripture is clear that we become what we behold. When we gather around the crucified and risen Christ ... when we sing of blood shed for our redemption, of hope that holds in life and death, of faithfulness that carries us through our darkest mornings ... something is happening beneath the surface. The Spirit is at work, shaping us into a people whose lives are no longer centred on themselves but on the glory of the One who gave everything for them.
This Sunday, we gather around songs that trace that story ... from trust in every promise God has made, to the mystery of Christ living in us as our hope of glory, to the goodness that holds us even in our most difficult moments. Come ready to be formed not just by what you know ... but by the One you behold.

Stop Trying to Be Enough—Trust Jesus Instead

Your weakness is not a detour from God's purposes ... it is the very address where He does His deepest work.

The disciples had walked with Jesus. They had seen the miracles, heard the teaching, witnessed the glory. And then they stood in front of a desperate father and a suffering child ... and came up empty. It would be easy to skip past that moment. But it is worth sitting in. Because their failure wasn't the end of the story ... it was the turning point. Jesus stepped in, and something far greater than a miracle took place. Dependence was formed.

This is the shape of the gospel-formed life. Not strength performing for God, but weakness learning to lean in. Not faith that never wavers, but faith that cries out "I believe ... help my unbelief." The songs we gather around this Sunday trace that journey ... from honest confession of need, to the sure foundation that will not shift, to the quiet place of abiding where we discover that apart from Him, we truly can do nothing. And in the end ... not I, but Christ in me.

Worship that is God-centred, gospel-shaped, and Spirit-empowered does not ask us to pretend we have it together. It invites us, in our need, to the One who is our strength. And it is in that place that the Spirit does what we never could ... forming us into a people who no longer live for their own glory, but for His.

Come as you are this Sunday ... your weakness is exactly where He meets you.
