, ,

The Old Covenant established Israel as God's people, but the New Covenant the way for who in Christ to become part of God's people.

The Church is therefore built around , or systems. The Church is built around Jesus Christ.

When Christ is our , we can together, together and become spiritually together. Every believer has a in God's purpose, but Christ remains the foundation of it all.

📖 Scripture Reading
'Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.
Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away —all who have been called by the Lord our God.”' Acts 2:38–39

'But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.
As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9–10

Who is Jesus?

He is not merely a . He is not simply a . He is the who represents us before God, the who establishes between God and humanity, and the offered for our sins.

Unlike the priests of the Old Covenant, Jesus does not die and need to be . His priesthood is . His mediation is . His sacrifice is .

who Jesus is how we God and how we before Him.

📖 Scripture Reeading
"But because Jesus lives forever, his priesthood lasts forever.
Therefore He is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through Him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf. He is the kind of high priest we need because He is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven." Hebrews 7:24-26

"So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world. With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity. Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.
That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant." Hebrews 9:11–15

💭 Reflection
1. Which aspect of Jesus' identity speaks most strongly to your relationship with God: High Priest, Mediator, Sacrifice or King?
2. How does knowing that Jesus is your eternal High Priest change your confidence in approaching God?

✅Action
Spend time today studying Hebrews 7 and write down 3 things it teaches you about Jesus.

🙏 Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me know You beyond what I have heard about You. Please give me revelation of who You truly are, and let that knowledge transform how I live. Amen.
