⚖️ What can a saint from 500 years ago teach us about living faithfully today?

This week at Common Ground: Thomas More, we'll be exploring the life of St Thomas More as we celebrate his feast day.

A husband, father, lawyer, statesman, and saint, Thomas More is remembered for his courage, integrity, and unwavering commitment to God, even when it came at great personal cost. His life challenges us to consider what it means to stay true to our faith in a world that often pulls us in different directions.

Together we'll dive into his story, reflect on the values he lived by, and explore how his example can inspire the choices we make in our own lives today.

Join us for an evening of conversation, reflection, and community as we discover what it means to live with conviction, courage, and faith in the modern world.

🗣️ What do young people want the Church to hear?

This week at Common Ground, we're creating space to listen.

As part of a national consultation helping shape a renewed vision for Catholic youth ministry in Australia, we'll be gathering for a guided listening and discernment session. Together we'll reflect on the realities facing young people today, our experiences of faith and Church, and our hopes for the future.

This isn't a debate or a discussion about having all the answers. It's an opportunity to listen deeply to one another, to the Holy Spirit, and to the voices of young people across Australia.

Whether you're full of hope, carrying questions, feeling disconnected, or simply curious, your voice matters.

Come and be part of the conversation.

🏠 Mission on Our Doorstep

This week at Common Ground Highgate, we're welcoming Damien Walsh from Shopfront, who will share about the realities of homelessness in Perth and the incredible work Shopfront does to support some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Damien will offer an honest insight into the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness, while also highlighting the dignity, hope and human connection at the heart of this ministry.

In place of our usual supper, we'll be rolling up our sleeves and making toasted sandwiches together. These sandwiches will then be taken by Damien to Shopfront and distributed to people doing it tough across Perth.

Come along for an evening of learning, reflection and practical service as we explore what it means to live out our faith through love of neighbour.

📍 40A Mary Street, Highgate
🕖 6pm Adoration and Confession, 7:00pm talk, 8pm making sandwiches

What is being explored at Crossroads? 🤔🌿

Crossroads is a weekend retreat for young adults who want to make sense of life’s big questions through the lens of faith, purpose, and discernment.

Across the weekend, we’ll be exploring:
🌱 Grass Roots – getting back to what truly matters and uncovering the foundations that shape our lives.

🧭 Counter Culturalism – learning how to make “God Decisions” in a world that often pulls us in a different direction.

💭 Discernment vs Overthinking – exploring where we draw the line between healthy reflection and becoming stuck in indecision.

🙏 Planning With God – discovering practical ways to invite God into our decision-making and future plans.

🚦 Decision Point – bringing it all together by looking at the real choices, challenges, and goals we face in everyday life.

Whether you’re discerning your vocation, navigating a major life decision, or simply seeking greater clarity and purpose, Crossroads offers space to reflect, pray, learn, and journey alongside other young adults.

How can we share the Gospel in a digital world? 📱✨

Join us at Common Ground Highgate as we welcome Jamie O'Brien, Director of the Archdiocesan Communications Office, for an engaging conversation on Evangelisation through Media.

In a world where social media, news, podcasts, and digital content shape the way people think and connect, what role can Catholics play in bringing the message of Christ into these spaces? Jamie will share insights from his experience in Catholic communications and explore the opportunities and challenges of evangelising through modern media.

Whether you're passionate about content creation, curious about the Church's presence online, or simply interested in how faith can be shared in today's culture, this is a conversation you won't want to miss.
