📚✨ The Talent Team had a fantastic day at the Tighes Hill TAFE Careers Expo, connecting with students studying Community Services and Nursing.

Celebrating 100 years of St John's Rectory 🎉⛪

On 25 September 1926, the stone was laid at St John's Rectory in Taree.

It was blessed and officially opened on 23 April 1927.

The Rectory faced the Manning River and featured spacious rooms and verandas overlooking the river.

This Sunday (18 October), the Taree and surrounding community will celebrate 100 years of St John’s Rectory.

Celebrations will begin at 11am with a special service, led by Reverend Natalie Quince.

A live performance by the Manning Valley Concert Band will follow.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Yesterday, students from all four Newcastle Anglican schools came together at Christ Church Cathedral Newcastle for the annual Year 12 Commencement Ceremony.

The service celebrated our Year 11 students as they prepare to step into their final year of school, recognising those taking on leadership roles and looking ahead to the exciting year to come.

Bishop Peter, Bishop Sonia and Bishop Charlie shared words of encouragement with our students as they prepare for this important milestone.

Our latest Encounter magazine – Anniversary Edition – is out now.

This special anniversary edition of Encounter celebrates 70 years of Anglican Care, reflecting on its journey from a small aged care ministry to one of the Hunter’s leading providers.

We honour the residents, staff, volunteers and community champions who have shaped that legacy, sharing stories of compassion, innovation and dedicated service.

In his column, Bishop Peter reflects on how faith is expressed through justice, reconciliation, and inclusion.

There is also coverage of Samaritans Green Day campaign, the launch of Newcastle Anglican’s first Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, and achievements across our schools.

🎓 CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2026 🎓

Last week, we celebrated an incredible milestone as Year 12 students across all four Newcastle Anglican Schools graduated!

Congratulations to the graduating students at Lakes Grammar - An Anglican School, Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College, Manning Valley Anglican College and Scone Grammar School. We’re so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and the people you’ve become along the way.

As you finish this chapter and look towards what comes next, we wish you all the very best for your HSC exams and the exciting journey ahead.

There were plenty of smiles, stories and reasons to celebrate, at our Rewards and Recognition morning tea hosted by Bishop Peter and John Barriga, at Booragul last week.

The event was a great opportunity to come together and recognise the care, achievements and outstanding contribution of some the wonderful people who make a real difference across our services every day.

We also had the chance to say thank you to some of our long serving employees for their many years of dedication.

Congratulations to all our award recipients and thank you for the important work you do to make our organisation so special.
