Lakes Salvos is a Christian Church & Community Centre dedicated to caring for the whole community in the North West area of Lake Macquarie. We focus on seeing people grow in their faith & finding a sense of belonging whilst serving the physical needs of our community.

Great things happen when we Stand Together. That was the theme at the Lord Mayor's Prayer evening tonight where we were fortunate to be nominated as beneficiary along with NourishEd. So many great things happening to help people in our area.

Our Community of Hope Homelessness service is nominated as a beneficiary of the Lord Mayor's Prayer Evening this Wed night! It's great to know others recognise the great work Lakes Salvos are doing to support others.

Collaboration success Lakes Salvos Greg Piper MP- so much can be achieved when we work together! In recent weeks we have seen more than 20 of our guests at our Community of Hope homelessness service at the Arcade (67 The Boulevarde Toronto) receive housing by intentional relationships of working together (Greg Piper MP, Homes NSW, Vinnies, Lake Macquarie City Council, Police, and Hunter New England Health). For those people previously living rough in encampments it means alot. Thanks to all involved. We are averaging 20 people per day in this situation.

Imagine trying to sleep in a leaking tent or having everything you need to live stolen or having to turn to drugs because living doesn't matter anymore. We've been seeing a more than doubling over recent months of those seeking out our supports. Our homelessness service is all about showing love to others through practical supports. If you have spare sleeping bags, blankets, tents or tarps, please drop them in. As you know, we don't draw attention to our service so that the privacy of those coming in is protected and also because it is not about us. It's all about giving hope to others.

Thanks to our wonderful community for their support in donating to our Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal! Thanks to our amazing volunteers we have raised much needed funds to provide for our Homelessness Support Service (Community of Hope) located in the arcade at 67 The Boulevarde, Toronto.
