We often thank God for the big people in our lives — family, close friends, the people who have walked with us for years.

But what about the people who quietly make an ordinary day a little better?

The kind receptionist at the doctor’s. The cleaner at your office. The person who serves you at the shops. The neighbour who brings your bins in. The workmate who always asks how you’re going.

They may never know the difference their kindness makes.

Who is one of those people in your life? Maybe today is a good day to actually tell them.

prayer becomes your lifeline,
and praying in the Spirit builds you from the inside out.

And in that place, things begin to change—

God loves justice.

Which is probably bad news for anyone whose life philosophy is, “It’s only wrong if I get caught.” 😬😂

Isaiah 61:8 reminds us that God isn’t impressed by appearances, excuses or religious window dressing. He loves what is right, He values truth, and He wants integrity to reach into every part of our lives.

Even the bits nobody else sees. 👀

The most dangerous compromises aren’t always the obvious ones.

If someone secretly added a tiny amount of cat biscuits to your cake, you probably wouldn’t say, “That’s okay — 99% of it is still cake.”

Yet spiritually, we can sometimes reason exactly like that.

We excuse a little gossip because everyone does it. We hold onto unforgiveness because we were genuinely hurt. We excuse lying, lust, gluttony or unkindness because the culture around us treats them as normal.

But repeated compromise can change what tastes “normal” to us.

Is there something you once knew wasn’t right that you’ve slowly become comfortable with?

Ask God to help you recognise it — and have the courage to remove it.
