We exist to introduce all people to Jesus and to help them home to heaven.

The Anglican Diocese of Armidale is a partnership of churches and associated agencies and schools found in the northern inland region of New South Wales, Australia. It includes the major centres of Armidale, Glen Innes, Gunnedah, Inverell, Moree, Narrabri and Tamworth and surrounding towns and villages. The aim of the Diocese is to introduce all people to Jesus and to help them home to heaven – Colossians 1:28.

• Its churches are committed to:

• building Christian communities in every town;

• reaching people who face a Christless eternity;

• growing devoted disciples of Jesus Christ;

• recruiting godly leadership across all ministries; and

• sending God’s people out into the world as salt and light.

For our schools a proposed new bill to come before parliament would significantly restrict the abiity to only employ staff who uphold our Christian ethos. This is particularly unhelpful. There is a petition being circulated about this - pls sign if you feel you can. Thanks!

As our Synod come together tonight in Tamworth from across the Diocese please be praying this weekend:
God our Father,
You judge your people with wisdom and rule us with love.
Give a spirit of understanding
to the synod of this Diocese
that it may make wise decisions
that will give glory to you
and be a blessing to your people.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

We are delighted that the Ven Dr. Stephen Carnaby has been appointed as the next Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Bathurst.

Bishop Rod Chiswell says, "Stephen Carnaby is a godly, humble and wise Christian leader and I believe that he is just the right man for the job. Pray that the Lord strengthens him for it."

Earlier this afternoon, our diocesan Administrator Archdeacon Andrew Thornhill advised the diocese with great joy and gratitude to God, that the Venerable Dr. Stephen Carnaby is to be our next Bishop! Full announcement below.

Please be in prayer for Stephen and his wife Joanne as they continue to prepare for this move and new ministry; and for the diocese of Tasmania as they receive this news.

Heavenly Father, we pray for the Anglican Church throughout the world, particularly for our brothers and sisters in hostile and dangerous places who pay a real price for their faithfulness to Jesus. Fill your people with your Spirit to persevere in faithfulness in the gospel work you have entrusted to us. In your mercy, give church leadership that upholds the authority of your word and wholeheartedly believes that salvation is through Christ alone, the one who died for our sins and was raised for our justification. We ask for theological education for the next generation of clergy and bishops; and for the infrastructure and support for the worldwide partnership across national, language and cultural divides. Give all Anglicans throughout the world prayerfulness and a heart for the lost wherever they are. We particularly ask for mission among the unreached, including the Middle East and the re-evangelisation of Europe. We ask this in the name of our Saviour and Lord Jesus, Amen.
