“A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children.” – Proverbs 13:22

Today at the 22nd Ordinary Session of the Diocese of Manicaland Synod, Bishop Rt. Rev. Erick Ruwona challenged us to rethink what it means to leave a lasting legacy.

His message emphasized that true wealth begins with the right mindset. Success is built through faith, vision, good leadership, investment, hard work, and solving real problems in our communities. Rather than living only for today, we are called to build businesses, create opportunities, steward God’s resources wisely, and leave a meaningful inheritance for future generations.

As a Church and as individuals, we must move beyond a poverty mentality, embrace innovation, invest in people and sustainable projects, and continue advancing God’s mission through evangelism, discipleship, outreach, unity, transformation, and care for creation.

The challenge is clear: What legacy are we building today that will bless our children’s children tomorrow?
