Sunday Service Message Summary — 30 August 2026
Today’s message focused on the armour of God in order to stand as a believer.
Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV
[10] Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. [11] Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. [12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. [13] Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. [14] Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, [15] and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. [16] In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. [17] Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. [18] And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Main takeaway: Christian life is a spiritual battle, and God has not left us without protection. Ephesians 6 teaches us to put on the armour of God so that we can stand firm against the schemes of the enemy.
1. Belt of truth
Truth keeps us grounded and prevents us from being deceived and having integrity.
2. Breastplate of righteousness
Righteousness guards our hearts and reminds us to live according to God’s ways.
3. Shoes of the preaching the gospel
We must be ready to carry the Gospel and walk in the peace of Christ wherever we go.
4. Shield of faith
Faith protects us from the “fiery darts” of the enemy, fear, doubt, temptation, and discouragement.
5. The Helmet of Salvation
Salvation guards our minds and reminds us of who we are in Christ.
6. The Sword of the Spirit ( The Word of God)
The Word is our weapon. Jesus Himself used Scripture when He was tempted by Satan.
7. Prayer
Paul tells us to pray at all times. Prayer keeps us connected to God and strengthens us spiritually.
The armour of God is not something we put on once and forget about. Every day, we must choose truth, righteousness, faith, peace, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer.
