Good morning Everyone,
As we approach the upcoming Local Government Elections in South Africa, I want to encourage every believer to prayerfully consider their responsibility before God regarding voting.
This is not about promoting any political party or political ideology. It is about stewardship, responsibility, and being faithful citizens in the nation where God has placed us.
Scripture teaches us that governing authorities and leadership matter because their decisions directly affect the wellbeing of communities, justice, safety, infrastructure, business, families, and the freedom with which we live and worship. While our ultimate hope is never in government, Christians still have a biblical responsibility to act responsibly within society and not withdraw from it.
Romans 13 reminds us that authority is significant before God, and Jeremiah 29:7 instructs believers to seek the welfare of the city where they live. One of the practical ways we do this in a democratic nation is by participating responsibly in elections.
Not voting when we have the ability to do so is effectively surrendering influence and responsibility to others without contributing our own voice, wisdom, prayer, and conviction.
I encourage everyone to:
• Ensure you are registered to vote.
• Confirm that your registration address is correct.
• Ensure you are registered in the correct area where you currently reside.
• Check your voting station in advance.
• Pray before voting and approach it with wisdom, integrity, and responsibility.

As believers, we should not be driven by fear, anger, propaganda, or personalities, but by wisdom, discernment, responsibility, and prayer.
Regards,
