Tokai Community Church

Tokai Community Church To know Christ and to make Christ known We are committed to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and to the Bible as the Word of God.

All our activities are focused on explaining and applying the lordship of Jesus, as explained in the Bible, to everyday living, on encouraging fellowship with one another; and on introducing Jesus to those who don't yet know Him as their Lord. To that end, we are committed to Bible teaching for the whole family of God. As a local church, TCC is a Constituent Church in the Church of England in South Africa (C.E.S.A.).

READ Daniel 12:2–3
“Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”

‭QUESTION
Am I living today with eternity in view, remembering that my present life is preparing me for an everlasting destiny?

PRAYER
Oh Lord our God, our Father in heaven, thank you that You are outside of time and space. You are eternal - the beginning and the end of all things. Please Lord, help us who trust in You, to also have an eternal perspective. Thank you that death is not the end, and that through Christ we have the sure hope of the Resurrection and everlasting life. Help us therefore to live faithfully in the light of eternity and Your coming judgment, and give us courage and compassion to point others to Christ while we have opportunity. We pray that by the power and inspiration of Your Spirit, our lives will shine for Your glory as we lead others toward the hope of salvation. And may our hope in this life and in the life to come be firmly rooted in the Lord Jesus Christ. We praise You and thank You for this sure and glorious hope. Amen.

READ Daniel 12:1
“‘At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people – everyone whose name is found written in the book – will be delivered.”

QUESTION
When the world around me feels uncertain or troubled, do I truly trust that God knows those who belong to Him and will ultimately deliver them?

PRAYER
Dear God, our Sovereign Father, when trouble comes and the future seems uncertain, help us to remember that You know us, You keep me and You will ultimately deliver us. Lord, God Almighty, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, please give us confidence to trust You rather than fear what lies ahead. Amen.

Psalm 46

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the LORD has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’ The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
‭‭
PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, please help us to be still and to know that You are God, and we’re not. Amen.

READ Daniel 10:1–11:1
Key Verse - Daniel 10:13
“But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days.”

Question
When I cannot see what God is doing, will I continue to pray, trust Him, and stand firm?

PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, thank You that even when we cannot see what is happening in the unseen world, nothing is beyond Your sovereign control. You see all things, You know all things, and You hold all things in Your hands.
When answers to our prayers seem delayed, when our struggles are painful, and when spiritual battles rage around us, keep us from losing heart. Help us to remain faithful in prayer, trusting that You hear us and that, in Your perfect wisdom and timing, You are always at work.
Lord, strengthen our faith when we cannot see what You are doing. Keep us steadfast in trusting You and confident in Your sovereign purposes. Remind us by Your Spirit that our hope and security do not rest on what we can see or understand, but on Christ, who reigns over all things.
In Him we are secure. Help us, therefore, to keep praying, keep trusting, and keep standing firm.
Amen.

Question
Do I live as though God is sovereign over the events of history - and over the circumstances of my own life?

Prayer
Almighty and Sovereign God, our Father in heaven, You alone are the One who rules over kings, nations and all the events of history. Thank You that as sovereign God, You are not distant from us, but has made Yourself known to us personally through Your one and only Son, Jesus Christ. Lord, please help us, by Your Holy Spirit, to trust You when circumstances seem uncertain and beyond our control. Remind us that nothing happens outside of Your sovereign purposes, and that nothing can thwart Your good and perfect plan. Thank You that, in all things - even in the difficult and painful circumstances of life - You are at work for our good and for Your glory, and are shaping us more and more into the likeness of Jesus.
Please give us humble hearts, steadfast faith and the peace that comes from knowing that You, our Heavenly Father are in control.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Help us by Your Spirit to draw near to You and to rest in Your presence. Lord, fill our hearts with Your peace and strengthen us to stand firm.
