1. St. Philip Neri teaches us devotion and surrender to the Holy Spirit
2. St. Philip Neri teaches us the importance of holy friendships.
3. St. Philip Neri teaches us the importance of conversation in Catholic Evangelization
4. St. Philip Neri teaches us how a charitable sense of humor is an instrument for expressing the Church’s unity.
5. St. Philip Neri teaches us to have a love for the early Christian martyrs and to be inspired by their heroic sacrifices.
6. St. Philip Neri teaches us to love the Sacrament of Penance.
7. St. Philip Neri teaches us to grow in our love and understanding of the Catholic Mass.
8. St. Philip Neri teaches us the unity of beauty and truth in his establishment of the Seven Churches Walk Pilgrimage in Rome.

As we celebrate our Feast Day, we look to the example and intercession of St. Philip Neri and all the saints whose ecclesial missions were influenced by his spirit.

WHEN YOU USE YOUR PHONE DURING MASS… 📱⛪

It can mean many things:
• You are distracted
• You are bored
• You are thinking about something else
• You are more connected to the world than to the worship taking place before you

Sometimes people check their phones out of habit, work concerns, family matters, or simple distraction. We all struggle with attention.
But Mass is not just another gathering.

It is the worship of God and the making present of Christ’s sacrifice.
Constant distraction during Mass can become a sign of a deeper problem: a loss of reverence for the sacred.

If we truly believe Jesus is present in the Eucharist, then He deserves our attention, our silence, and our devotion.

The world can wait for one hour.
Give God your full presence.
Reverence begins with attention.

The Planner’s Committee will hold their final preparations meeting on Saturday, 22 November.
Then, on Sunday, 23 November, during Mass, the Chairperson will officially unveil the committee to the parishioners and ask for their blessing.

After Mass on Sunday, the committee will go live, receiving submissions and endorsements toward our draft Mission Statement, for consolidation and eventual adoption of the Mission Statement.

Our Mission Statement document will be available in the following languages: English, Zulu, and Sotho.

The Chairpersons of the PPC, PFC, and WLF, together with our facilitator Dr. Walter Sipho Nkosi, led a well-mixed group of young and senior professionals from our parish in a vigorous workshop (retreat) at the Mother of Divine Mercy. The purpose of this retreat was to prepare and equip the group for the important work that lies ahead as they form the PPC Sub-Committee (Planning Committee).

May the good Lord bless them with wisdom

St Philip Neri Choristors visted St Albert Catholic Vosloorus last week Sunday and the Mass was led by Fr Michael Seheri and Fr Msomi

We were welcomed with warm hands and celebrated the holy mass 🙌
