Theme: Panim- The Presence of God
Today we need the Panim of God. Panim is the Greek word for Presence of God.
God prepared a Garden for Adam beforehand
God does not place you in a place He has not already prepared.
Genesis 2:8 NLV - The Lord God planted a garden to the east in Eden. He put the man there whom He had made.
Genesis 2:9 NLV - And the Lord God made to grow out of the ground every tree that is pleasing to the eyes and good for food. And He made the tree of life grow in the center of the garden, and the tree of learning of good and bad.
Eden means delight. God planted a garden of delight and put man in His presence. That place of Panim was a place of God's meeting with Adam, Everything man needed was already there.
Sin moves us out of Panim.
Adam was not chased from a location, he moved from the presence. After they disobeyed and ate from the tree God had forbidden:
Genesis 3:8 NLV - Then they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the evening. The man and his wife hid themselves from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
When you are out of Panim you hide from God. Adam hid because he had violeted the sacred place
Even though Adam could hear the voice of God,he was away from His presence
Many of us are like Adam, we hear God,we love God,We do all things for God but yet we not in the Panim..His presence.
We blame others for why we left Panim like Adam blamed Eve.. We must take responsibility.
God desires us to go back to back to Panim,Jeremiah 3v14
When God delivered Israel, He wanted them into a place of Panim
Exodus 33:1 NLV - The Lord said to Moses, “Go away from this place, you and the people you have brought out of the land of Egypt. Go to the land that I promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, ‘I will give it to your children.’
Exodus 33:2 NLV - I will send an angel before you. And I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
God said I will send an Angel as a guide. Many of us are connected to people who are not taking us anywhere. God will send the right association when He prepares a place for you.
In Panim there is no mediator, face to face.
When Moses obeyed, he made the Tent of Meeting away from the other twnt of the Stiff-neckked people. The pillar of cloud was not God, but a sign that God was there,The Shekinah, the visible sign of His presence. Many of us live with the sign, the knowledge about God, but not in the presence of God Himself.
In Panim, there is intimacy.
Exodus 33:11 NLV - The Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the other tents, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not leave the meeting tent.
Panim guarantees closeness. Moses had no mediator between him and God. Moses understood this, so he would not leave the tent.
Panim is what makes us different.
Moses knew that without presence, assignment becomes a burden.
Exodus 33:12 NLV - Moses said to the Lord, “See, You say to me, ‘Lead this people!’ But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You said, ‘I have known you by name. You have found favor in My eyes.’
Exodus 33:14 NLV - The Lord said, “I Myself will go with you. I will give you rest.”
Exodus 33:15 NLV - Then Moses said to Him, “If You Yourself do not go with us, do not have us leave this place.
For Moses, doing anything without the Presence of God was problematic. We need Godly wisdom to say the same. If His presence does not go with us, we should not go.
If you are not in the presence, you can no longer command things like those who are in the presence. You may hear God, but still miss God. When you are in Panim, you hear from God, things manifest, and you can testify.
When you are in Panim, you can command and things, situations obey.
Look at Elijah:
1 Kings 17:1 NLV - Now Elijah the Tishbite, of the people who were staying in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord the God of Israel lives, before Whom I stand, for sure there will be no rain or water on the grass in the early morning these years, except by my word.”
Elijah could stand before kings and command the rain because he knew he was in the Panim of God
When famine came, God directed him:
1 Kings 17:2-3 NLV - And the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “Leave here and turn east. Hide yourself by the river Cherith, east of the Jordan.
Elijah obeyed. He was in the Panim of God. When in Panim you never worry about tomorrow. When God gives you an instruction, you don't make excuses or blame others like Adam, you obey. God had already prepared the brook and the ravens.
There are things happening in our lives that were not meant to be there, but they happened because we are not in the presence of God. God's presence is the place of your glory. In the Lord's presence, there's enjoyment and rest.
Prayer: “Lord I need to be in your presence, I have moved away from your presence, take me back to your presence. We need to be in the presence of God. We need to go back to God.”
Ask yourself today: I don't have peace? I don't have money? What is the cause? You can't be in the presence of God and still suffer without direction. Let us stop gaslighting God and blaming others, and return.
Prayer: “I want your presence today Lord. I want to come into your presence again”
God is everywhere but He doesn't manifest Himself everywhere...
