With the passing of his father and musical mentor Henry Lewis Sapp Jr, and with such a heavy heart, Marvin Sapp poured out his grief with his historical record breaking Gospel hit "Never Would Have Made It" on his 2007 seventh studio album Thirsty.
The song has a record of 47 weeks at number one on the Billboard Gospel Charts, a song only few heard from a church pulpit couple of days after Marvin's father burial. It became a groundbreaking song to even top the adult R&B radio charts.
