Counselors and mental health specialists have long recognized the power of journaling to uplift the depressed, soothe the agitated or nervous, and provide direction for the indecisive. It may begin as a space to dump issues, emotions, an

d concerns but it soon develops into conversations with the One Who holds perspective in His hands. Combining it with some sort of creative task places His perspective into something tangible that is more easily remembered than what was written. Through Creative Journaling I have found a way to give language to my emotions, cultivating mindfulness and unplugging from digital distractions in a space where I can speak to God and hear His voice which led to a new level of intimacy with Him. In this space, He gave me a secure area for self-expression and vulnerability that enhanced my relationship with Him.
