On Trinity Sunday, 30 May 2026, St Paul's welcomed the Rector of our neighbouring church, St Barnabas Port Alfred, the Revd Godukile Mbolekwa, to celebrate and preach. Speaking on Jesus's last words to his Disciples as recorded in Matthew 28, sending them out to make disciples of all nations and baptise them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, he reminded the congregation that these words apply to us all. And so does the promise of Jesus to be with us, to the end!

17/05/2026

Our Gospel reading for this morning was from John 17:1-11. In this passage, we see Jesus praying for His disciples before facing the cross. Even in a difficult moment, His heart was filled with love, care and concern for those who followed Him. He prayed for their protection, their faith and their unity.

This reading reminds us that God never loses sight of His children. No matter what challenges we face, we are held in His care and guided by His presence. In a world that can often feel uncertain, we are reminded to remain faithful, stay united and trust that God is walking every step of the journey with us.

As we move into this new week, may we carry this reminder in our hearts, that we are never alone, and that God’s love continues to lead us forward with hope and purpose.
