Sunday 10th of May 2026

Priest Appels conducted the Divine Service and used an excerpt of the Bible text "Philippians 3:13–14"
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

A small token of love and appreciation was shared with our mothers in honour of Mother’s Day by the Sunday school children and YP.
We thank them for their love, strength, and faithful presence in our congregation and our lives. Wishing all our mothers a truly blessed and beautiful Mother’s Day.

THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND JUSTICE

On Sunday, 03 May 2026, the Young People of the Malmesbury District was blessed in word and sacrament by the serving of District Rector Shepherd Theo Baker when he conducted a divine service for Ministers and Young People in Piketberg Congregation.

BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

MESSAGE
Let us strive for fellowship with Jesus Christ and for justice among ourselves.

SUMMARY
■ Disciples of Jesus put their trust in God’s faithfulness and care, and do not allow their hearts to be dominated by worries.
■ Disciples of Christ make it their priority to seek the kingdom of God, that is, they pursue fellowship with Jesus and eternal life above everything else.
■ Striving for justice is part of what it means to follow Christ. God practises justice, and disciples of Jesus should also stand up for justice.

A special bible reading by Br. Desmond Goliath from Piketberg Congregation, recorded in Mathew 6:19-34 was read after the choir beautifully paved the way for the sermon.
District Rector called upon Pr. Jason, Dc. Kotze and Pr. Louw to serve alongside at the altar.

The divine service concluded on a high with the choir majestically rendering Hymn Collection 370– Lift up your heads. District Rector and the serving ministers greeted the congregants by hand before taking some group pictures.
