There’s a sweet Afrikaans expression parents often use for their children: “Hy’s my hart se punt”—literally, "he is the tip of my heart," or the sharp focus of my devotion.

This Sunday, we reach the conclusion of 1 Corinthians 7 on marriage and singleness, landing on a surprising truth: your relationship status isn't actually the main point of the chapter. The sharp focus of your heart is. Throughout this series, we’ve asked, "How do I live a holy life?"—and Paul’s answer fits that question perfectly.

Young Adults Growth Group | Tuesdays

During this term, the young adults in our church gather on a Tuesday evening to spend some time in community and growth together while spending time in the Bible.
We are discussing some of the material from Sunday and spending some time together as a church family.

All young adults are welcome.

Few aspects of life shape what we think of ourselves or others more than "Relationship Status." As we work through 1 Corinthians 7 over the next few weeks, we'll see the freedom that God gives us to enjoy the place we find ourselves in at this moment, rather than the burden we might put on ourselves (or others) because of relationships. Whether you're new to Christian things or not, join us this Sunday, 9am or 4pm at Athlone Primary School, as we think about Singleness, Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage. It'll be good to see you!

Why indeed. Could it be His purpose for s*x is bigger than ours ever was?

Whatever stage of life you're in, questions about s*x, marriage and relationships loom large — outside the church and inside it.

This Sunday we begin a new series in 1 Corinthians 6-9, starting with why s*x matters.

Grief is a journey that is deeply personal. No two people grieve in the same way, and there is no "right" timeline or path. Whether you have lost a spouse, parent, child, sibling, other family member, or a dear friend, the pain of losing someone important can feel overwhelming. While grief is a road each of us must walk in our own way, it is not a road we have to walk alone.

Our GriefShare support group offers a safe, welcoming space where you can find understanding, encouragement, and hope alongside others who are navigating their own journey of loss. You are warmly invited to join us, wherever you are in your grief. Together, we can take the next step toward healing, one day at a time.

Freedom. Liberty.

Concepts deeply rooted in our history — and for good reason. Generations of our ancestors were bound by tyrannical oppressors.

But what about personal freedoms? Are there bounds to these? Can I do anything I want to?

And if I'm going to be — or become — a Christian, where "the truth shall set you free," what does that freedom actually look like? Can I do anything because I've got an insurance policy for the future?

This term at Christ Church Cascades, we're exploring freedoms, rights, responsibilities and relationships in the book of 1 Corinthians — wrestling with issues close to our hearts: singleness, marriage, divorce, and s*x.

Join us — starting 26 July — at Athlone Primary School, 9am or 4pm.
