Youth Day Soccer Tournament 2026 ⚽️

Wow! What a day on the pitch!

Our annual Youth Day Soccer Tournament took place on Tuesday, 16 June 2026 and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the first kick-off to the final whistle, the football, fellowship and friendly competition made for an unforgettable day.

The atmosphere was electric, the supporters brought the noise and one of the biggest highlights was seeing our ministers lace up their boots and take on the Young People in a match filled with laughter, skill and great sportsmanship!

A heartfelt thank you to every player, supporter, volunteer and organiser who played their part in making the tournament such a success.

And finally, a huge congratulations to ‘Team Avengers’ who battled their way to victory and were crowned the 2026 Youth Day Soccer Tournament Champions! 🏆❤️

The final countdown is on! The boots are laced, the teams are ready and the field is set for an action-packed day of goals, tackles, teamwork, and unforgettable moments.

Who will lift the trophy? Who will find the back of the net? There's only one way to find out!

"In the Hands of Our Good God"

Following the Divine Service, the Rector Angelo Dicks conducted the Sunday School Divine Service, based on the bible text Jeremiah 29:11, which reads:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Throughout the service, the Rector interacted warmly with the children, asking questions that encouraged them to think about the Bible text and apply it to their own lives. The children responded with enthusiasm and confidence, demonstrating a clear understanding that God has a purpose for each of them and that their lives are safely in His loving hands.

The service was a beautiful reminder that no matter what challenges we may face, God’s plans for His children are filled with hope, peace and a blessed future.

After the Divine Service, the Sunday School children enjoyed a fellowship that had been lovingly prepared for them, sharing moments of joy, laughter and togetherness. ❤️

‘Serving with Joy’

The Divine Service was conducted by the Rector, Angelo Dicks on Sunday morning, June 14 2026.

The service was based on the bible text Nehemiah 8, an excerpt of verse 10, which reads:

“Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

During the service, Priest Michael Laguma was called up to serve the congregation.

We were reminded to serve God with joy, not just obligation. Our strength comes from the Lord’s nearness, not our circumstances. When we remember we’re serving both God and our neighbour, even routine tasks become a meaningful witness that invites others: “Come and see how good the Lord is.”
