Goodwood Baptist Church, Cape Town Welcome to Goodwood Baptist Church: We are a Christ centered and Bible based church that aims to equip our members to live a gospel focused life.

You can expect sound, loving biblical teaching with real people in various stages in their walks with God. Pastor Martin Drysdale uses expository preaching in his messages, which means a focus on a particular book as a whole and in context of its setting. This is an excellent way to stay true to the Scriptures and not grind a particular axe in every message.

Church of the Week (30 August – 6 September 2026)

We pray this week for Grace Bible Church - Lilongwe (GBC) in Malawi, where Kondwani Nyanda serves as pastor-teacher. Here is how you can pray for the church.

PETITIONS
1. Spiritual Growth and Faithful Discipleship. Pray that the Lord will continue to grow GBC in biblical maturity, holiness, love, and unity as we seek to faithfully preach and apply the whole counsel of God. Pray especially for the development of leaders, deacons, Bible study groups, membership, and discipleship ministries.
2. Wisdom and Provision for the Church’s Future. Pray for wisdom as we seek to strengthen the church’s ministry structures and develop sustainable ministries, including the possibility of Grace Academy, which could eventually provide both an educational ministry and financial support for the church. Pray for God’s provision for the construction of the ladies’ bathrooms and other ongoing ministry needs.

PRAISES
1. God’s Faithfulness in Growing the Church. Praise God for his faithfulness to GBC and for the opportunity to continue preaching his word and ministering to families, men, women, and children in Lilongwe.
2. Growth in Leadership and Ministry. Praise God for the development of our leadership structure, including our deacons, and for the increasing emphasis on biblical discipleship, membership, fellowship, and developing future leaders within the church.
3. God’s Provision for the Church Property. Praise God that he has faithfully provided for the completion of our church wall and the installation of the gate. We are grateful for his provision and for everyone he used to help make this possible.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer and partnership as we seek to faithfully serve Christ and his church in Malawi.
