The God of the Valley and the Mountain Top

This message reminds us that God is not only the God of our high moments, but also the God of our lowest moments.

In the Bible, God often met His people on the mountain top - Moses received the Law on Mount Sinai, Elijah experienced God's power on Mount Carmel and Jesus was transfigured on the mountain. The mountain top represents victory, clarity, joy and the presence of God.

But God is also the God of the valley. David said, "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me." (Psalm 23:4). In the valley - in trials, tribulations, sickness and hardship - God is still faithful, still present and still working.

Your valley is not a sign that God has left you. It is a place of formation, where your faith is tested and strengthened. The same God who celebrates with you on the mountain walks with you in the valley.

Key Takeaway: Trials and tribulations will come, but they will not last. They will come to pass. If you hold on to God in the valley, He will carry you back to the mountain top. You will prevail, because He remains faithful in every season.

Sunday Recap: Damsel, Arise
Text: Mark 5:21-43

On Sunday we were reminded that when we call on Jesus, He answers.

Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, called on Jesus for his dying daughter. Jesus was on His way to his house - help was coming.

But in the middle of the journey, Jesus stops. The woman with the issue of blood had touched Him. 12 years bleeding. Isolated and desperate, but one touch was enough. In the middle of Jairus' emergency, Jesus takes time to attend to her.

And while Jesus is still attending to her, the message comes to Jairus - "Your daughter is dead. Don't bother the Master anymore." The very thing he feared most happens in the waiting.

But a delay with Jesus is not a denial.

Jesus looks at Jairus and says - "Don't be afraid. Only believe."

He still goes to the house. He puts out the noise and the mourners. He takes the little girl by the hand and says 'TALITHA CUMI' which means "Little girl, I say to you, arise." And she arose!

Some of you called on God and while you were waiting, things got worse. The report said it died. But God is saying, don't be afraid, only believe. The same Jesus who stopped for the woman with the issue of blood has not forgotten the daughter.

He is still able to make what was dead, arise.

Sunday Recap: More than this

On Sunday we were reminded that nothing is lost to God, but it takes a seeker to find it. The woman in Luke 15 didn't wait for the coin to find her - she lit a lamp, swept the house and searched diligently. Just like she searched diligently for her lost coin, our seeking is what positions us for a miracle.

The woman with the issue of blood had been bleeding for 12 years. Isolated. Delayed. Rejected. But her faith broke protocol. She had one plan - JESUS. One touch was all she needed. If you are hanging onto a thread today, let it be the hem of His garment, because one touch from Him changes everything.

HOW DO I SEEK GOD? - 1 Chronicles 16:11

Humble Yourself - Fast. Pray. Not just talking, but encountering Him.
The Word - Don't just read it, meditate daily until it finds you.
Community - Don't do faith alone. Stay planted.
Repentance - Own it. Turn from sin. Turn to the Father.
Obedience - Obey when it's hard and when the world says don't.
Faith - Without it you can't please Him. He REWARDS seekers. Hebrews 11:6
Perseverance - Don't stop sweeping. Don't stop pressing. Your touch is coming.

Recap: Daughters of The King

Daughters of a King, know who you are. You are not plan B. 1 Peter 2:9 says you are chosen, royal and God’s special people. 2 Corinthians 6:18 says the Lord Almighty calls you His daughter. That is your identity.

But there is a fight for your heart. The devil is always the first speaker. He brings rejection, comparison and "you’re not enough." John 10:10 says he comes to steal, kill and destroy.

Don’t stop there. Jesus is the final speaker. He said He came to give us life in abundance. The enemy may start the story but God finishes it.

Think of Leah in Genesis 29. The world called her unloved and overlooked her. But God saw her. Because God saw her, He blessed her and from her came Judah and the lineage of Jesus. What man called less, God turned into legacy.

So wait on the Lord. He sees you, He names you, He crowns you. You are chosen, you are royal and your King always gets the last say. Amen.
