Heideveld Young People Visit Langa Congregation

On Sunday, 30 August 2026, the Young People of Heideveld Congregation visited the Langa Congregation for a day of fellowship, service and togetherness.

They attended the Divine Service and joined the Langa choir, contributing to the musical accompaniment during the service. Afterwards, the Young People joined the Priest on a walkabout through Langa, visiting and serving the sick.

The afternoon was then spent in fellowship with the Young People of Langa, sharing conversations, laughter and building new friendships. It was a meaningful day that brought the Young People of both congregations together through music, service and fellowship.

Midweek Divine Service | Taking Care of Our Faith

On Wednesday, 20 May 2026, visiting District Apostle Helper Martin Rheinberger conducted a divine service in Silvertown Congregation. He was accompanied by District Rector David Smith, together with the Rectors from the district.

Invited to this special divine service were the congregations of Silvertown, Welcome Estate, Langa, Surrey Estate, Heideveld, Kewtown and Hazendal.

Special preparations had been made for the visit of the District Apostle Helper, and a spirit of joyful anticipation filled the hall as members gathered in expectation of God’s word. The atmosphere created by the musicians set a reverent and uplifting tone, preparing hearts for the divine service.

The Bible text for the service was taken from 2 Timothy 1:14:

“That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.”

During the divine service, District Rector David Smith was called upon to serve alongside the District Apostle Helper.

To conclude the divine service, the choir and orchestra rendered a moving presentation of the leaflet, “Forth, forth my heart to heaven.” As the congregation joined in singing the final verse, a heartfelt and memorable atmosphere filled the hall.

Join us for an uplifting Young People’s Service this Sunday

On 23 April 2026, the Langa Congregation was visited by District Apostle Helper Mkhwanazi, who shared the Bible text from Matthew 15:8. He was assisted by DR David Smith during the service.

The congregation prepared in anticipation of this special visit and all in attendance experienced a most memorable service. Rectors and wives of the Silvertown District were also present.

After the service, DAH Mkhwanazi greeted the members and spent time in fellowship with them over light refreshments. The choir sang beautiful traditional songs as members continued to greet one another, bringing the service to a warm and joyful close.
